Week 9 of USPHL 2025-26 Regular Season

The 2025-26 USPHL regular season for the Pacific Division continued to deliver another set of high-scoring games and jaw-dropping wins. Read about the exciting wins and fun highlights from the games during November 10-16, 2025!


Long Beach Bombers Two-Game Series 

The Ontario Jr. Reign kicked off Week 9 on home ice at Lakewood Ice with a Game 1 matchup against the San Diego Sabers on Friday, November 14, 2025. They then traveled to the Ontario Center Ice Arena where they closed out this series against the Ontario Jr. Reign on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The Sabers opened Game 1 of this series and struck first with a goal scored by #13 Ollie Ruski-Jones late in the first period which made it a 1-0 game going into the second period. This one-goal lead for the Sabers quickly turned into a two-goal lead after #23 Payton Hauge scored a minute and thirty-three seconds into the second period (2-0). The Bombers were able to answer back and cut their goal deficit down to one-goal when #9 Charlie Cheetham scored during the latter half of the period (2-1). With one last push during the second period, the Sabers were able to regain their two-goal lead when #27 Matthew Matsuda scored with less than two minutes left in the period (3-1). Although the Bombers did make a commendable effort to cut their goal deficit, it was not enough to hinder the Sabers’ momentum as they closed out the game, 4-1, with an additional goal scored by #8 Owen Robertson during the third period. In regards to goaltending, Sabers’ #71 Stephan Vedernikov secured their win after he had saved 45 out of 46 shots on goal while Bombers’ #31 Alexis Dumont saved 27 out of 31 shots on goal. After a strong performance, the San Diego Sabers found themselves with a two-game winning streak while the Long Beach Bombers continued onto a three-game losing streak. 


The Jr. Reign opened up this game with two goals scored by #48 Marc Belanger (1G) and #22 Samuel Delaquis (1G) early in the period which made it a 2-0 game until Bombers’ #39 Hubert Blanchettetasse answered back and made it a one-goal game going into the second period (2-1). The Bombers used their momentum from the first period to maintain control over the second period which ended 3-2 in their favor with two goals scored by #61 Steven Anderson (1G) and #88 Troy Smith (1G). Despite having a strong start to the third period with a power play goal scored by #11 Marcus Vargas, this 4-2 lead would soon be negated as the Jr. Reign regrouped and closed the game with six unanswered goals scored before the end of regulation (8-4). The six Jr. Reign goals scored during the remainder of the game were by the following players: #15 Walker Chitwood (2G), #48 Belanger (1PPG), #97 Brennan Monroe (1G), #83 Noah Neil (1G), #9 Christian Yi (1G). In regards to goaltending, Jr. Reign’s #29 Nicholas Perry secured the team’s 8-4 win after he saved 28 out of 32 shots on goal while Bombers’ #1 Sebastian Kica saved 33 out of 41 shots on goal. After a dominant performance in Game 2 of this series, the Ontario Jr. Reign found themselves with a two-game winning streak while the Long Beach Bombers continued onto a four-game losing streak. 


Ontario Jr. Reign Two-Game Series 

The Ontario Jr. Reign will kick off Week 9 on home ice at the Ontario Center Ice Arena with a Game 1 matchup against the Long Beach Bombers on Saturday, November 15, 2025. They will then travel to Ice Realm Carlsbad where they will close out this series against the San Diego Sabers on Sunday, November 16, 2025. Read about how the Ontario Jr. Reign maintained control and swept this series 2-0. 


The Jr. Reign opened up their series with a two-goal lead when #48 Marc Belanger (1G) and #22 Samuel Delaquis (1G) scored early in the first period (2-0). The Bombers were able to answer back and made it a one-goal game when #39 Hubert Blanchettetasse scored and made it a 2-1 game going into the second period. The Bombers' momentum helped them to even out (2-2) and gain their first lead of this game (3-2) when two goals were scored by #61 Steven Anderson (1G) and #88 Troy Smith (1G). Despite having a strong start to the third period with a power play goal scored by #11 Marcus Vargas, this 4-2 lead for the Bombers would soon be negated as the Jr. Reign regrouped and closed the game, 8-4, with six unanswered goals scored before the end of regulation. The six Jr. Reign goals scored during the remainder of the game were by the following players: #15 Walker Chitwood (2G), #48 Belanger (1PPG), #97 Brennan Monroe (1G), #83 Noah Neil (1G), #9 Christian Yi (1G). In regards to goaltending, Jr. Reign’s #29 Nicholas Perry secured the team’s impressive 8-4 win after he saved 28 out of 32 shots on goal while Bombers’ #1 Sebastian Kica saved 33 out of 41 shots on goal. After a dominant performance in this game, the Ontario Jr. Reign found themselves with a two-game winning streak while the Long Beach Bombers continued onto a four-game losing streak.


Although the Sabers struck first in Game 2 of this road series with a goal scored by #16 Austin Robinson four minutes into the first period (1-0), Jr. Reign’s #9 Yi answered back and tied the game, 1-1, a few minutes after the opening goal was scored. During the final two minutes of the first period, the Sabers were able to regain their one-goal goal going into the second period with a goal scored by #3 Dylan Skene (2-1). The Jr. Reign were able to tie the game when #9 Yi scored a minute and four seconds into the second period (2-2), however, Sabers’ #2 James Schneider answered back fifty-one seconds later which ultimately regained their one-goal lead (3-2). Despite being able to extend their lead, 4-2, midway through the second period with a goal scored by #94 Sam Bailey, the Jr. Reign were able to cut their deficit back to one-goal when #48 Belanger scored during the final minute of the second period (4-3). The Sabers opened up the third period with a goal scored by #27 Matsuda which momentarily gave them a 5-3 lead until the Jr. Reign regrouped and closed out this game, 7-5, with four unanswered goals scored during the latter half of the period. The last four goals of this game were scored by the following Jr. Reign players: #15 Chitwood (1G), #17 Evan Tsadilas (1G), and #9 Yi (2G). This Jr. Reign win would not have been possible without the remarkable in net performance by #33 Domenik Mclnenly, who saved 30 out of 35 shots on goal, and #9 Christian Yi’s four goals scored which completed his first hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season. After an impressive end to this game, the Ontario Jr. Reign will enter Week 10 with a three-game winning streak after ending the San Diego Sabers’ two-game winning streak. 


Henderson Force vs. Lake Tahoe Lakers Three-Game Series 

Henderson Force traveled to South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena where they faced the Lake Tahoe Lakers for the first time during the 2025-26 regular season. These teams continued their three-game series which started on Sunday, November 9, 2025 and ended after their game on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Read about how Henderson Force dominated the Lake Tahoe Lakers and swept this series 3-0. 


The Force came in strong and ended the first period, 1-0, with a goal scored by #28 Nicholas Gallagher. Although the Lakers answered back with an early goal scored by #19 Oliver Owens during the second period (1-1), the Force regained their one-goal lead with a power play goal scored by #77 Riku Permi (2-1). The Lakers did have a series great chances to tie the game, however, their last push during the third period was not enough to hinder the Force who close out the third period, 3-1, with a goal scored by #75 Nicholas Correnti. In regards to goaltending, #1 Christian Hubert secured the Monsters’ win after he saved 20 out of 21 shots on goal while Lakers’ #33 Ryder Selbee saved 37 out of 39 shots on goal by the end of this game. After an intense Game 1 matchup, Henderson Force found themselves with a four-game winning streak while the Lake Tahoe Lakers continued onto a four-game losing streak.


Picking up from where they left off, the Force continued to dominate this series with a 7-0 shutout victory secured by goaltender, #29 Daniel Peebles, who recorded his second shutout of the regular season. The Force kicked off their goal scoring momentum with two goals scored by #8 Kaden Mulcahy (1G) and #17 Aleksander Leonelli (1PPG) during the first period. This two-goal lead was extended into a five-goal lead with three unanswered goals scored by #87 Martin Szcus (1G), #10 Christopher Bruder (1G), and #26 Reese Hicks (1G) which made the score 5-0 going into the last period of regulation. The Lakers continued to struggle against the Force who closed out the game with a power play goal and regular goal scored by #26 Hicks which secured his second hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season. After a glorious shutout in Game 2 of this series, Henderson Force entered a five-game winning streak after they extended the Lake Tahoe Lakers’ losing streak to five-games. 


Game 3 of this series was opened up with a power play goal scored by Force’s #11 Frank Barncord which gave them a short-lived one-goal lead as Lakers’ #39 Jamie Natali tied the game forty-nine seconds later with a power play goal (1-1). The Force quickly regrouped and were able to regain their one-goal lead with a goal scored by #55 Loui Lundahl before the end of the first period (2-1). This goal scoring momentum was carried into the start of the second period as #17 Leonelli made it a 3-1 game with a goal scored a minute and forty-nine seconds into the period. The Lakers did not back down and were able to make it a tied game during the beginning half of the period with two goals scored by #27 Kasper Parkkonen (1G) and  #14 Leo Matthew Duggan IV (1G). The game remained at a tied standstill, 3-3, until the last five minutes of the second period when the Force put up four unanswered goals scored by #17 Leonelli (1G), #26 Hicks (1G), and #55 Lundahl (2PPG) which made it a 7-3 game going into the last period of regulation. Although the Lakers were able to put up two goals during the third period, scored by #27 Parkkonen (1G) and #36 Ugnius Simbelis (1PPG), it was not enough to offset the Force’s lead which was extended by #27 David Baxter Jr midway through the period (8-5). This series sweep by the Force would not have been possible without the impressive Game 3 in net performance by #1 Christian Hubert who saved 34 out of 39 shots on goal and #55 Loui Lundahl’s first hat-trick of the regular season. After a thrilling series, Henderson Force are now on a six-game winning streak after extending the Lake Tahoe Lakers’ streak to a six-game losing streak. 


Ventura Vikings vs. Lake Tahoe Lakers Three-Game Series

The Ventura Vikings traveled to South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena where they faced the Lake Tahoe Lakers for the first time during the 2025-26 regular season. These teams played in a three-game series which started on Friday, November 14, 2025 and ended after their game on Sunday, November 16, 2025. Although the Lakers struck first and had a one-goal lead going into the second period after #27 Kasper Parkkonen scored the opening goal of the game (1-0), their efforts to cut their goal deficit during the remainder of the game fell short as the Vikings regrouped and finished the game, 7-1, after putting up seven unanswered goals by the end of Game 1. The three Vikings goals scored during the second period of the game were by #53 Calvin Ruggiero (1G), #63 Edvin Ahlperby (1G), and #51 Joe Lawrence (1PPG). The Vikings then closed out this game with four unanswered goals scored by #6 Ethan Yang (1G), #63 Ahlperby (1G), #51 Lawrence (1G), and #16 Griffin Gagnon (1G) during the latter half of the third period. Vikings’ goaltender, #28 Alexander Wendt, ended up securing the team’s win after he saved 33 out of 34 shots on goal. After an impressive start to this series, the Ventura Vikings found themselves with a two-game winning streak after extending the Lake Tahoe Lakers’ streak to a seven-game losing streak. 


The first period of Game 2 ended with a 2-2 standstill with Vikings’ goals scored by #10 Nicholas Mardani (2G) and Lakers’ goals scored by #15 Carver Alford (1G) and #27 Kasper Parkkonen (1G). After an intense battle during the first period, the Vikings regrouped once again and were able to close out this game, 9-2, with seven unanswered goals throughout the span of  the second and third period. The four Vikings’ goals during the second period were scored by #47 Reese Tittle (1G), #51 Lawrence (1G), #6 Yang (1G), and #95 Dylan Hazuka (1G) which gave them a 6-2 lead going into the last period of regulation. The Vikings then closed out the game with three-goals scored by #10 Mardani (1G), #6 Yang (1G), and #9 Cosimo Repaci (1G). The impressive goaltending efforts by Vikings’ #31 Aiden Biswanger, who saved 33 out of 35 shots on goal and #10 Nicholas Mardani’s first hat-trick of this 2025-26 regular season helped secure their 9-2 win. With another dominant performance, the Ventura Vikings continued onto a three-game winning streak after they extended the Lake Tahoe Lakers’ streak to an eight-game losing streak going into Game 3 of this series. 


The first period of Game 3 ended with a tied standstill, 1-1, after a power play goal scored by each team with the first one being scored by Vikings’ #13 Victor Langemar Persson and Lakers’ #15 Carver Alford. #6 Yang ended up extending the Vikings’ lead by one-goal with their second successful power play goal being scored during the final three minutes of the second period. Despite having multiple chances to even out the score, the Lakers’ struggles continued when the Vikings put up two more goals during the third period. The final two Vikings goals that were scored before then end of regulation were recorded by #16 Gagnon (1G) and #51 Lawrence (1G). #28 Alexander Wendt secured the Vikings’ 4-1 win after he saved 39 out of 40 shots on goal. After another dominant performance in Game 3 of this series, the Ventura Vikings enter Week 10 with a four-game winning streak after extending the Lake Tahoe Lakers’ streak to a nine-game losing streak. 


Overall, Week 9 of the 2025-26 USPHL Pacific Division was full of shocking outcomes and high-scoring wins. Some memorable moments from this past week included multiple winning/losing streaks being extended and a couple hat-tricks being recorded. There were 2 hat-tricks recorded during week 9 of the regular season which were secured by Ontario Jr. Reign’s #9 Christian Yi and Henderson Force’s #55 Loui Lundahl. Looking ahead, we have a one-game series and a couple three-game series scheduled in week 10 of the regular season.
