Fresno Monsters vs. Long Beach Bombers Three-Game Series
The Fresno Monsters traveled to Lakewood Ice and faced the Long Beach Bombers in a three-game series which started on Friday, October 24, 2025 and ended after their game on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Game 1 was kicked off with a dominant start by the Monsters who led the game, 7-1, going into the second period. This goal scoring momentum was started by #9 Sebastian Vesterlund who scored the opening goal of the game and was followed up by two power play goals being scored by #20 Vertti Sakko and #13 Jonathan Andersen (3-0). #15 Adrian Gomez continued the Monsters’ momentum in the latter half of the period and made it a 4-0 game. The Monsters quickly added three additional goals, scored by #20 Sakko, #26 Antti Rajala, and #21 Brian Erte, which made it a 7-0 game until Bombers’ #11 Marcus Vargas got his team onto the board. This Bombers' goal made it a 7-1 game with two minutes left in the first period. Unfortunately for the Bombers, their first goal of the game did not hinder the Monsters as they went on to score five unanswered goals during the second period. #25 Gomez scored nineteen seconds into the period (8-1) which was followed up by #21 Erte’s second goal of the game being scored (9-1). #7 Tyson Baumbach extended the Monsters’ lead 10-1 midway through the period which was then followed up by #25 Gomez and #21 Erte securing their first hat-tricks of the 2025-26 regular season (11-1). After a scoreless second period for the Bombers, #88 Troy Smith answered back to Monsters’ #92 Alex McIssac’s third period opening goal (13-2). The Bombers last push was not enough to offset the Monsters who closed out the game, 14-2, with a final goal scored by #20 Sakko. This last Monsters goal of the game also secured #20 Sakko’s second hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season. After a strong performance in Game 1, the Fresno Monsters have found themselves with a seven-game winning streak while the Bombers extended their six-game losing streak.
After a scoreless first period in Game 2 of this series, the Monsters were able to break the standstill with three goals scored by #77 Matteo Ferreira-Tavares (1G), # 37 Connor Perdue (1G), and #21 Erte (1G) which ultimately gave them a 3-0 lead going into the last period of regulation. The Bombers continued to struggle against the Monsters who were able to secure their 5-0 win with two goals scored by #9 Sebastian Vesterlund (1PPG) and #96 William Lindgren (1G). This 5-0 shutout would not have been possible without the impressive goaltending performance by #31 Noah Hammarstrom, who secured his third shutout of the regular season after saving all 23 shots on goal that he faced by the end of this game. With another strong performance recorded in Game 2, the Fresno Monsters found themselves with an eight-game winning streak while the Bombers found themselves with a seven-game losing streak going into Game 3 of this series.
The Monsters kicked off Game 3 with two unanswered goals scored by #20 Sakko (1PPG) and #15 Gomez during the first period which gave them a 2-0 lead going into the second period. This lead turned into a 5-0 lead when three goals were scored by #9 Vesterlund (1G), #6 Lodyn Rueckel (1G), and #71 Nils Tunbratt (1G) during the second period of this game. Although the Bombers had a series of great chances to get on the board, their efforts were unable to tilt the ice as the Monsters put up three additional goals on the board which were scored by #96 Lindgren (1G), #15 Gomez (1G), and #14 Botond Levente Molnar (1G). The Monsters’ goaltender who secured this 8-0 shutout was #30 Niksa Slade who ended up saving all 31 shots on goal that he faced by the end of this game and recorded his first shutout of the regular season. After a thrilling three-game series, the Fresno Monsters enter week 7 with a nine-game winning streak while the Long Beach Bombers continue their eight-game losing streak.
San Diego Sabers Three-Game Series Upset
The San Diego Sabers kicked off their three-game series at Iceoplex Simi Valley where they faced the Ventura Vikings in Game 1 on Friday, October 24, 2025. They then traveled to Ontario Center Ice Arena on Saturday, October 25, 2025 for Game 2 against the Ontario Jr. Reign before closing off the series back at Iceoplex Simi Valley for Game 3 against the Ventura Vikings on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The first period of Game 1 ended with a 2-0 lead for the Vikings after #95 Dylan Hazuka scored thirty-one seconds into the game and #6 Ethan Yang scored the Vikings’ second goal of the game midway through the period. The Sabers answered back with a goal scored by #18 Jeremy Adkins early in the second period which momentarily made it a one-goal game (2-1). The Vikings quickly regained their two-goal lead with another goal scored by #6 Ethan Yang during the beginning half of the period (3-1). Although the Vikings were able to extend their lead with a goal scored by #19 Lino Viau during the latter half of the period (4-1), the Sabers answered back with a goal scored by #24 Sammy Albano which made it a two-goal game going into the last period of regulation (4-2). After a series of great chances by both teams, the Vikings came up on top and ended the game with a final score of 5-1 after #6 Yang secured his first hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season during the final two minutes of this game. In regards to goaltending, #31 Aiden Biswanger secured the Vikings’ win after saving 41 out of 42 shots on goal while #1 Parker Lewis saved 28 out of 33 shots on goal for the Sabers. After their success in Game 1, the Ventura Vikings started a one-game winning streak while the Sabers entered a nine-game losing streak.
Game 2 started off strong with a score of 2-1 in the Jr. Reign’s favor by the end of the first period with goals scored by Sabers’ #17 Nick Ryan and Jr. Reign’s #22 Samuel Delaquis (1G) #14 Jared Padilla (1G). The Jr. Reign went on the dominate the remainder of the game with three unanswered goals scored by #11 Mason Welsh (1PPG, 1G) and #17 Evan Tsadilas (1PPG) during the second period of the game (5-1). Four additional Jr. Reign goals were scored by #17 Tsadilas (1G), #8 Jeremiah Croley (1G), #71 Mason Geng (1G), and #22 Delaquis (1G) which closed out the game, 9-1, in the Jr. Reign’s favor. In regards to goaltending, #32 Makai Collins secured the Jr. Reign win after saving 22 out of 23 shots on goal while Sabers’ #32 Santiago Cucuraqui Gascon saved 35 out of 44 shots on goal by the end of this game. After a triumphant win in Game 2 of this series, the Ontario Jr. Reign found themselves with a six-game winning streak after extending the Sabers’ losing streak to ten games.
This intense three-game series ended with a highly anticipated goaltending rematch between Vikings’ #31 Aiden Biswanger and Sabers’ #1 Parker Lewis. After a hard-fought battle, the Vikings came out on top in Game 3 with a 1-0 shutout victory due to #31 Biswanger’s 39 out of 40 saves and the game winning goal being scored by #10 Nicholas Mardani thirty-three seconds into the second period. This 1-0 Vikings’ shutout for #31 Biswanger secured his second shutout recorded during the 2025-26 regular season. The Ventura Vikings have extended their streak to a two-game winning streak which puts the San Diego sabers on an eleven-game losing streak going into Week 7.
Lake Tahoe Lakers vs. Seattle Totems Three-Game Series
The Seattle Totems traveled to South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena where they faced the Lake Tahoe Lakers for the first time during the 2025-26 regular season. These teams played against one another in a three-game series which started on Friday, October 24, 2025 and ended after their game on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The Lakers found themselves with a two-goal lead after #16 Evan Hays and #14 Leo Matthew Duggan IV scored two goals during the latter half of the first period of Game 1 in this series (2-0). Totems’ #14 Marius Arnesen answered back less than two minutes after the Lakers’ second goal was scored which made it a one-goal game going into the second period (2-1). After a slow start, the Totems found gained some momentum and were able to control majority of the second period with three goal scored by #27 Aatu Suontakanen (2G) and #22 Paco Mayer-Schuchard (1G) before Lakers’ #24 Lewis Beddow closed out the period and made it a one-goal deficit (4-3). With time winding down in regulation, Lakers’ #18 Kade Packer was able to tie the game, 4-4, and forced overtime. After a series of great scoring chances, the Totems won, 5-4, with a victorious overtime goal scored by #27 Suontakanen which also secured his fourth hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season. In regards to goaltending, #35 Matej Hronsky secured the Totems’ win after saving 27 out of 31 shots on goal while Lakers’ #33 Ryder Selbee saved 43 out of 48 shots on goal. The Seattle Totems found themselves with a two-game winning streak after their Game 1 victory while the Lake Tahoe Lakers continued down a seven-game losing streak.
After a close Game 1, the Lakers found themselves with another two-goal lead when two goals were scored by #7 Eric Kloss and #14 Leo Matthew Duggan IV (2-0). Unfortunately for the Lakers, their lead diminished quickly when the Totems answered back with three unanswered goals during the second period. Totems’ #14 Arnesen kicked off their goal scoring streak which was continued by #27 Suontakanen, who scored the game tying goal. In the end, the Totems secured their 3-2 win with a power play goal scored by #8 Matiass Grinbergs and the impressive goaltending efforts of #1 Yeho Khmara, who saved 45 out of 47 shots on goal. Despite a tough loss, Lakers’ goaltender, #32 Aaron Ing, made a commendable effort to keep his team in the game by maintaining a scoreless third period and saving a total of 34 out of 37 shots on goal. After a huge comeback in the second period of Game 2 , the Seattle Totems found themselves with a three-game winning streak while the Lake Tahoe Lakers continued onto an eight-game losing streak.
An intense first period during the last game that the Totems and Lakers would face one another during the 2025-26 regular season ended 3-2 in the Totem’s favor. The three first period Totems goals scored by #28 Roman Wolynec, #19 Hikaru Nakamura, and #22 Mayer-Schuchard while the two Lakers goals were scored by #14 Duggan IV and #7 Eric Kloss. The Lakers regrouped during intermission and lit up the second period with five back-to-back goals scored by the following players: #39 Jamie Natali (1G), #7 Kloss (1G), #13 Kaean Basnett (1G), and #18 Packer (2G). Although the Totems were able to answer back with one power play goal scored by #8 Grinbergs, this did not stop the Lakers from scoring one last goal to make the score 8-4 going into the last period of regulation. The Lakers’ 8th goal of the game was scored by #7 Kloss who recorded his first hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season. The Totems made a remarkable push and made it a one-goal game after three goals were scored by #22 Mayer-Schuchard (2G) and #16 Philipp Bied (1G). After a tough goaltending battle, Lakers’ goaltender, #33 Ryder Selbee, secured the Lakers’ 8-7 win after he saved 48 out of 57 shots on goal while Totems' #35 Matej Hronsky came up short after saving 23 out of 25 shots on goal. The Lake Tahoe Lakers enter week 7 with a one-game winning streak after triumphantly ending the Seattle Totems’ three-game winning streak in Game 3 of this series.
Henderson Force vs. Vernal Oilers Three-Game Series
Henderson Force traveled to Western Park Arena where they faced the Vernal Oilers for the first time during the 2025-26 regular season. These teams played against one another in a three-game series which started on Friday, October 24, 2025 and ended after their game on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Although the Force were able to start Game 1 strong with a 1-0 lead early in the first period after #11 Frank Barncord scored the opening goal, they struggled to answer back when Oilers’ #28 Owen Powers tied the game during latter half of the period (1-1). The second period remained at a tied standstill despite both teams having great chances to break the tie which remained 1-1 going into the last period of regulation. The game ended with a final score of 4-1 in the Oilers’ favor after three additional goals were scored during the third period. These final three goals of the game were scored by #28 Powers, #22 Brody Wood, and #11 Luke Jimenez. In regards to goaltending, #76 Bence Veres-Fucsku was in net for the Oilers and secured their win after saving 46 out of 47 shots on goal while #21 Ralfs Kalnins saved 22 out of 25 shots on goal for the Force. After a dominant performance in the third period, the Vernal Oilers ended the Force’s four-game winning streak and extended their winning streak to ten-games.
The Oilers’ momentum from Game 1 carried into Game 2 as #13 Marsel Tynymbaev (1G) and #26 Zach Baumann (1PPG) opened up the first period with two unanswered goals which gave the team a 2-0 lead going into the second period. #73 Sixten Wramhed answered back for the Force which momentarily made it a one-goal game until #13 Tynymbaev regained their two-goal lead (3-2). Although the Force made a great effort to tie the game in the third period, their efforts fell short as Oilers’ goaltender, #76 Bence Veres-Fucsku secured the team’s 3-2 win after saving 27 out of 28 shots on goal by the end of this game. After a close game, the Vernal Oilers extended the Force’s losing streak by two-games and ultimately found themselves with an eleven-game winning streak going into Game 3 of this series.
Game 3 started off strong in favor of the Force as the first period ended with a score of 2-1 after Forces' #87 Martin Szcus (1G) and #77 Riku Permi (1G) scored two goals and Oilers’ #20 Brett Holman scored a power play goal late in the period. The Force answered back early in the second period with two goals which were scored by #11 Frank Barncord (1G) and #77 Permi (1G) which momentarily made it a 4-1 game. This three-goal lead quickly reverted back to a one-goal lead when Oilers’ #19 Jack Tidsbury (1G) and #26 Baumann (1G) answered back and made it a 4-3 game. The Oilers momentum from the second period carried into the last period of regulation and resulted in the team having a 5-4 lead after two back-to-back goal scored by #17 Dinmukhamed Khamitov (1G) and #97 Gabriel Iervella (1G). Force’s #26 Reese Hicks tied the game, 5-5, with a goal scored over a minute after the Oilers gained their first lead of Game 3. The game remained at a tied standstill until Oilers’ #37 Cameron Roth scored the game-winning goal in the final second of the game. After a gutsy battle, #35 Kole Kronstedt was able to secure the Oilers’ 6-5 win after saving 36 out of 41 shots on goal while Force’s #29 Daniel Peebles saved 28 out of 34 shots on goal. After a thrilling end to this series, the Vernal Oilers enter week 7 with a twelve-game winning streak while Henderson Force go in with a three-game losing streak.
Overall, Week 6 of the 2025-26 USPHL Pacific Division was full of thrilling performances and electrifying wins. Some memorable moments from this past week included two shutouts recorded by the Fresno Monsters, multiple winning streak being extended, and a few hat-trick being recorded. In total, there were 5 hat-tricks recorded during week 6 of the regular season which were secured by: Ventura Vikings’ #6 Ethan Yang; Lake Tahoe Lakers’ #7 Eric Kloss; and Fresno Monsters’ #15 Adrian Gomez, #21 Brian Erte, and #20 Vertti Sakko. Looking ahead, we have a four-game series and a couple three-game series scheduled in week 7 of the regular season.
