Week 4 USPHL Pacific Division Recap

The 2025-26 USPHL regular season continued to make a statement with the Ventura Vikings and the Ontario Jr. Reign sweeping their series as well as the Long Beach Bombers securing their first win of the season. Read about the exciting wins and highlights from the games during October 10-12, 2025!


San Diego Sabers vs. Ventura Vikings Two-Game Series

The San Diego Sabers traveled to Iceoplex Simi Valley for a two-game series against the Ventura Vikings which started on Friday, October 10, 2025 and ended after their game on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Read about how the Ventura Vikings’ extended their winning streak after sweeping the San Diego Sabers!


The Vikings had a dominant start to Game 1 with three unanswered goals scored by #95 Dylan Hazuka, #6 Ethan Yang, and #53 Calvin Ruggiero by the end of the first period (3-0). After a rough start, the Sabers were able to muster a goal, scored by #7 Haris Shular, a minute and twenty seconds into the second period. Vikings’ #25 Ryan Gill regained the Vikings’ three-goal lead after he scored a goal with two minutes left on the clock which made it a 4-1 game going into the last period of regulation. With time winding down, #6 Yang was able to momentarily extend the Vikings’ lead to 5-1 until Sabers’ #17 Nick Ryan scored within the final minute of regulation (5-2). The Sabers’ final push in the third period was not enough to offset the Vikings’ 5-2 win in Game 1 of this two-game series. In regards to goaltending, #28 Alexander Wendt helped secure the Vikings’ win after he saved 40 out of 42 shots on goal while Saber’s  #32 Santiago Cucuraqui Gascon saved 31 out of 36 shots on goal. After an eventful Game 1, the Ventura Vikings were on a five-game winning streak while the San Diego Sabers were on a four-game losing streak. 


Game 2 of this three-game series kicked off with a power play goal, scored by Vikings’ #53 Calvin Ruggiero, midway through the first period and closed out with a goal scored by Chace Jarvis (2-0). The Vikings extended their lead to 3-0 with goal scored by #25 Gill early in the second period. Sabers’ #23 Payton Hauge momentarily made it a two-goal game with two minutes left in the second period (3-2). This Sabers goal did not hinder the Vikings’ momentum as #51 Joe Lawrence and Chace Jarvis scored two unanswered goals during the final minute of the second period and made it a 5-2 game. Vikings’ momentum remained strong as #14 Dominick Ybarra scored a minute and thirty-two seconds into the last period of regulation (6-2). Although the Sabers’ were able to momentarily make it a three-goal game after #2 James Schneider scored six minutes into the third period (6-3), the Vikings were able to regain their five-goal lead when #67 Kaleb Furman closed out the game with a final score of 7-2. In regards to goaltending, #31 Aiden Biswanger secured the win for the Vikings after he saved 23 out of 25 shots on goal while Sabers’ Parker Lewis saved 32 out of 37 shots on goal. After a thrilling Game 2 win, the Ventura Vikings found themselves on a six-game winning streak while the San Diego Sabers continued onto a five-game losing streak going into week 5 of this 2025-26 regular season. 


Long Beach Bombers vs. Iron County Yeti Three-Game Series

The Long Beach Bombers traveled to KJ’s Ice Barn to face the Iron County Yeti in a three-game series which started on Friday, October 10, 2025 and ended after their game on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Read about how the Long Beach Bombers secured their first win of the 2025-26 regular season before falling into another losing streak.  


The Bombers opened up Game 1 with an early goal, scored by #11 Corbin Breen, two minutes and forty seconds into the first period (1-0). Yeti’s #22 Matej Zeman answered back with a goal midway through the period, which tied the game 1-1. The Bombers were able to regain the lead in the final two minutes of the first period with goals scored by #92 Rohan Bhangoo and #88 Troy Smith (3-1). Bombers’ #11 Breen also opened up the second period with another early goal scored which made it a 4-1 game. Although Yeti’s #14 Jacob Mayfield was able to cut the team’s goal deficit by two-goals after scoring midway through the second period, the Bombers’ regained their three-goal lead with #11 Breen’s first hat-trick of the regular season (5-2). In regards to goaltending, #1 Sebastian Kica was in net for the Bombers and saved 19 out of 21 shots on goal while #48 Corbin Dugan was in net for the Yeti and saved 38 out of 43 shots on goal. The Long Beach Bombers broke their five-game losing streak after their 5-2 Game 1 victory. 


After a tough loss, the Yeti went into Game 2 with vengeance as #11 Szymon Kluckznik scored an unanswered power play goal which made it a 1-0 game by the end of the first period. The Yeti’s momentum remained strong as #17 Marek Trefil made it a 2-0 game after he scored thirty seconds into the second period. The Bombers were able to cut their goal deficit down to one-goal after #61 Steven Anderson scored during the final three minutes of the second period (2-1). The Yeti were able to regain their two-goal lead with a power play goal scored by #17 Trefil in the beginning half of the third period. Although the Bombers made a commendable effort to make a comeback, it was not enough to offset the score which ended 3-1 in the Yeti’s favor. In regards to goaltending, #35 Franciszek Zrebiec secured the Yeti’s win after saving 38 out of 39 shots on goal. Bombers’ #1 Sebastian Kica initially started in net and saved 4 out of 6 shots on goal until #72 Ethan Fitzgerald took over during the second period. #72 Fitzgerald saved 25 out of 26 shots on goal by the end of this game. After an impressive comeback, the Iron County Yeti denied the Long Beach Bombers from starting a winning streak going into Game 3 of this series.


The Yeti continued to maintain control over the Bombers as they ended the first period, 2-0, with two power play goals scored by #13 Brennan Pierce and #17 Trefil. Bombers’ #8 Hugo Aulestiac broke the Bombers’ scoring drought and was able to make it a one-goal game after scoring a power play goal midway through the second period. Although both teams had great scoring chances throughout the remainder of the game, the score remained 2-1 in the Yeti’s favor. When looking at goaltending, #35 Franciszek Zrebiec secured the Yeti’s win after saving 45 out of 46 shots on goal while Bombers’ #1 Sebastian Kica saved 30 out of 32 shots on goal. After a close Game 3, the Iron County Yeti remained on top after winning the series, 2-1, which ultimately extended their streak to a two-game winning streak going into week 5. On the other hand, the Long Beach Bombers have found themselves in a two-game losing streak after getting a taste of victory in Game 1 of this series.  


Lake Tahoe Lakers vs. Ontario Jr. Reign Three-Game Series

The Lake Tahoe Lakers traveled to Ontario Center Ice Arena to face the Ontario Jr. Reign in a three-game series which started on Friday, October 10, 2025 and ended after their game on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Read about how the Ontario Jr. Reign swept the Lake Tahoe Lakers which started their three-game winning streak and extended the Lake Tahoe Lakers’ six-game losing streak. 


The Jr. Reign maintained control over the first period of Game 1 with four unanswered goals (4-0) which were scored by the following players: #14 Jared Padilla (1G), #97 Brennan Monroe (1G), #11 Mason Welsh (1G), and #71 Mason Geng (1G). Lakers’ #36 Ugnius Simbelis’ goal scored fifty-one seconds into the second period helped to break the team’s goal scoring drought and momentarily made it a three-goal game (4-1). The Lakers’ three-goal deficit quickly turned into a six-goal deficit after back-to-back goals were scored by #86 Brander Lambert (1G) and #17 Evan Tsadilas (2G). The Jr. Reign’s lead was cut when Lakers’ #16 Evan Hays scored fifteen seconds after Jr. Reign’s #17 Tsadilas’ goal (7-2). This push by the Lakers was not enough to hinder the Jr. Reign’s momentum as they closed out the second period with four additional goals and maintained a scoreless third period to secure their 11-2 win. The last four Jr. Reign goals were scored by #22 Samuel Delaquis (1G), #97 Monroe (1PPG), #11 Welsh (1G), and #77 Marc Belanger (1G). In regards to goaltending, #29 Nicholas Perry was in net for the Jr. Reign and saved 17 out of 19 shots on goal. Lakers’ initially started with #32 Aaron Ing in net, who saved 39 out of 45 shots on goal until #33 Ryder Selbee took over during the end of the second period. #33 Selbee closed out the game saving 2 out of 7 shots on goal by the end of regulation. After a dominant Game 1, the Jr. Reign found themselves with a one-game winning streak while the Lake Tahoe Lakers continued onto a four-game losing streak. 


Game 2 opened up with an astonishing 5 unanswered goals scored by the end of the first period. Jr. Reign's #77 Belanger started the goal-scoring streak with two goals scored five minutes into the period (2-0). This was then followed up by a power play goal scored #11 Welsh who also scored an additional goal during the latter half of the first period (4-0). #77 Belanger secured his first hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season after closing out the first period, 5-0, in the Jr. Reigns favor. Lakers finally found themselves on the board when #24 Lewis Beddow scored their first goal of the game eight minutes into the second period (5-1). This Lakers' goal momentarily made it a four-goal game until Jr Reign’s #71 Geng scored a power play goal midway through the period (6-1). Jr. Reign’s #11 Welsh also completed his first hat-trick of the regular season after he scored a power play goal a minute and twenty-one seconds into the third period (7-1). The Jr. Reign continued to maintain control over the remainder of period and closed out the game, 10-1, with three unanswered goals scored by #11 Welsh (1G) and #15 Walker Chitwood (1PPG, 1G). In regards to goaltending, #33 Domenik Mclnenly secured the Jr. Reign’s 10-1 win after saving 24 out of 25 shots on goal while Lakers’ #32 Aaron Ing saved 23 out of 33 shots on goal. After a remarkable performance in Game 2 of this series, the Ontario Jr. Reign entered Game 3 with a two-game winning streak while the Lake Tahoe Lakers entered a five-game losing streak. 


Jr. Reign’s #17 Tsadilas continued the team’s goal scoring momentum in Game 3 of this series with an early goal scored six minutes into the first period (1-0). After a scoreless start to the second period, #8 Jeremiah Croley and #22 Delaquis extended the Jr. Reign’s lead which ultimately made it a 3-0 game going into the last period of regulation. The Lakers’ struggles against the Jr. Reign continued on as they were unable to answer back to the three Jr. Reign goals which were scored by #53 Jake Hudec (1PPG), #22 Delaquis (1G), and #11 Welsh (1PPG) during the third period. The Jr. Reign’s 6-0 shutout was made possible with the impressive goaltending performance of #32 Makai Collins who saved all 37 shots on goal by the end of the game. After sweeping the Lake Tahoe Lakers, the Ontario Jr. Reign are now on a three-game winning streak while the Lakers are on a six-game losing streak going into week 5 of the regular season. 


Overall, Week 4 of the 2025-26 USPHL Pacific Division was full of strong performances and exciting wins. Some memorable moments from this past week included the Long Beach Bombers securing their first win of the regular season and Ontario Jr. Reign’s goaltender, #32 Makai Collins, securing a 6-0 shutout win against the Lake Tahoe Lakers. There were three hat-tricks recorded this week by Long Beach Bombers’ #11 Corbin Breen on October 10, 2025 as well as Ontario Jr. Reign’s #11 Mason Welsh and #77 Marc Belanger on October 11, 2025. Things to look forward to going into Week 4 of the Pacific Division include a two-game series between the Ontario Jr. Reign vs. the Ventura Vikings as well as a three-game series between the San Diego Sabers vs. Fresno Monsters and the Long Beach Bombers vs. Henderson Force.
