Nov. 22-24, 2024 of the USPHL 2024-2025 Pacific Division kicked off with multiple two-game and three-game series.
San Diego Sabers vs. Bakersfield Roughnecks (Two-Game Series)
Nov. 22-24, 2024
The Bakersfield Roughnecks traveled to Carlsbad Icetown for a two-game series against the San Diego Sabers. Game 1 broke the San Diego Sabers’ five-game winning streak after the Bakersfield Roughnecks were able to secure a Game 1 win which ended with a final score of 6-5 in their favor. After having a day to rest, the San Diego Sabers were able to muster a Game 2 win in this series after beating the Bakersfield Roughnecks with a final score of 5-3. Liam Krupcyznski, the Captain of the San Diego Sabers recorded his second hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season.

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a regulation win for the Bakersfield Roughnecks (6-5) at Carlsbad Icetown.
GOALTENDING: Liam Luther was able to secure the win for the Bakersfield Roughnecks after saving 29 out of 34 shots on goal. Mikhail Saratovtsev started off in net for the San Diego Sabers and saved a total of 4 out of 7 shots on goal before Parker Lewis took over for the remainder of the game after the first 5 minutes of the first period. Sabers’ Parker Lewis saved a total of 36 out of 39 shots on goal by the end of the game.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Bakersfield Roughnecks’ Adrian Gomez scored the game winning goal during the third period of the game.
HAT-TRICKS: San Diego Sabers’ Matthew Matsuda recorded his first hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season.

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a regulation win for the San Diego Sabers (5-3) at Carlsbad Icetown.
GOALTENDING: Parker Lewis was able to secure the win for the San Diego Sabers after saving 48-51 shots on goal. Liam Luther was in net for the Bakersfield Roughnecks and saved a total of 45 out of 50 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: San Diego Sabers’ Briar Dickson scored the game winning goal and Liam Krupcyznski scored the insurance goal.
HAT-TRICKS: San Diego Sabers’ Liam Krupcyznski recorded his second hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season.
Ontario Jr. Reign Two-Game Series

The Ontario Jr. Reign started off their two-game series with an unfortunate overtime loss which ended with a final score of 5-4 in the Long Beach Bombers’ favor at Lakewood Ice. The team then traveled back home to Ontario Center Ice Arena where they faced the Bakersfield Roughnecks. The Ontario Jr. Reign were able to regain their momentum and secure a 5-3 win.

GOALTENDING: Ludovic Dagenais was able to secure the win for the Long Beach Bombers after saving 50 out of 54 shots on goal. Nikolas Charles was in net for the Ontario Jr. Reign and saved a total of 37 out of 42 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Long Beach Bombers’ Magnus Lowham scored the game winning goal 4 minutes and 44 seconds into overtime.

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a regulation win for Ontario Jr. Reign (5-3) at Ontario Center Ice Arena.
GOALTENDING: Ryan Hicks was able to secure the win for the Ontario Jr. Reign after saving 50 out of 53 shots on goal. Jakob Barcelona was in net for the Bakersfield Roughnecks and saved a total of 30 out of 35 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Ontario Jr. Reigns’ Denver Craig scored the game winning goal and Christopher Lai scored the short handed game winning insurance goal.
Fresno Monsters vs. Ventura Vikings (Three-Game Series)
Nov. 22-23, 2024
The Fresno Monsters traveled to Iceoplex Simi Valley and faced the Ventura Vikings in a three-game series this past week. The Fresno Monsters started the series with a triumphant 8-2 win in Game 1. They continued to carry this momentum in Game 2 which resulted in a 10-0 shutout win for the Fresno Monsters. Game 3 of the series closed off with a 7-3 win for Fresno Monsters. An honorable mention from Game 3 in this series goes to the Ventura Vikings’, Louis Allen, who recorded his first hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season after scoring all three of the Vikings’ goals during this game. The Fresno Monsters are now on a three-game winning streak.

GOALTENDING: Markus Wasastjerna was able to secure the win for the Fresno Monsters after saving 18 out of 20 shots on goal. Joshua Arsenault was in net for the Ventura Vikings and saved a total of 29 out of 37 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Fresno Monsters’ Alex McIsaac scored the game winning goal during the second period and Nils Tunbratt scored the insurance goal.
HAT-TRICKS: Fresno Monsters’ Nils Tunbratt recorded his first hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season.

GOALTENDING: Brooks Barofsky was able to secure the win for the Fresno Monsters after saving all of 17 shots on goal. Brasco Cirillo was in net for the Ventura Vikings and saved a total of 24 out of 34 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Fresno Monsters’ Theo Granlund scored the game winning goal and Nils Tunbratt scored the short handed insurance goal during the first period.

GOALTENDING: Peter Burke was able to secure the win for the Fresno Monsters after saving 16 out of 19 shots on goal. Zachary Follo was in net for the Ventura Vikings and saved a total of 27 out of 34 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Fresno Monsters’ Filipp Papshev scored the game winning goal and Jonathan Heidenberg Andersen scored the insurance goal during the third period.
HAT-TRICKS: Ventura Vikings’ Louis Allen recorded his first hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season after scoring all three of the Vikings’ goals during this game.
Lake Tahoe Lakers vs. Henderson Force (Three-Game Series)

The Lake Tahoe Lakers traveled to America First Center Rink 1 and faced Henderson Force in a three-game series this past week. Game 1 of the series resulted in a 5-4 regulation win for the Lake Tahoe Lakers. Henderson Force made a comeback in Game 2 with a 4-2 win but would fall short in Game 3 as the Lake Tahoe Lakers were able to beat out Henderson Force in a close matchup which ended with a final score of 4-3. The Lake Tahoe Lakers take this series.

GAME WINNING GOAL: Lake Tahoe Lakers’ Jose-Jasmir Guseff scored the game winning goal 2 minutes and 19 seconds into the third period.

GOALTENDING: Jacob Brumm was able to secure the win for Henderson Force after saving 41 out of 43 shots on goal. Timon Franzen was in net for the Lake Tahoe Lakers and saved a total of 35 out of 38 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Henderson Force’s Christopher Bruder scored the game winning goal and the empty net insurance goal during the third period.

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a regulation win for the Lake Tahoe Lakers (4-3) at America First Center Rink 1.
GOALTENDING: Perry Jacobs was able to secure the win for the Lake Tahoe Lakers after saving 46 out of 49 shots on goal. Nicholas Perry was in net for Henderson Force and saved a total of 37 out of 41 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Lake Tahoe Lakers’ Tyler Gudjonson scored the game winning goal during the third period.
Overall, Week 11 of the 2024-2025 regular season of the USPHL Pacific Division was full of exciting accomplishments. Some memorable moments from this week included: Fresno Monsters’ first shutout win of the 2024-2025 regular season, multiple hat-tricks recorded, and high-scoring wins. There were 4 hat-tricks recorded this past weekend which included: Fresno Monsters’ Nils Tunbratt (1 HT); Ventura Vikings’ Louis Allen (1 HT); and San Diego Sabers’ Matthew Matsuda (1 HT) and Liam Krupcyznski (2 HTs). Looking into this weekend, we have a lot of exciting matchups ahead of us.
