Nov. 11-17, 2024 of the USPHL 2024-2025 Pacific Division kicked off with multiple three-game series and a two-game series for Henderson Force. The scheduled match-ups against the Colorado Fighting Elk this past week were canceled due to transportation issues.
Henderson Force’s Two-Game Series
Nov. 15-16, 2024
Henderson Force kicked off their two-game series with an electric 7-3 win against Iron County Yeti at KJ’s Ice Barn. The team then traveled to Carlsbad Icetown for Game 2 of the two-game series against the San Diego Sabers which ended with a final score of 5-2 in the Sabers’ favor.

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a regulation victory for Henderson Force (7-3) at KJ's Ice Barn.
GOALTENDING: Jacob Kaput was able to secure the win for Henderson Force after saving 37 out of 40 shots on goal. Mason Bouchard was in net for Iron County Yeti and saved a total of 32 out of 39 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Henderson Force’s Shane Dean scored the game winning goal and Jared Padilla scored the insurance goal.
Game 2 | Saturday, November 16, 2024 | San Diego Sabers 5, Henderson Force 2
FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a regulation win for the San Diego Sabers (5-2) at Carlsbad Icetown.
GOALTENDING: Viktor Pasztor was able to secure the win for the San Diego Sabers after saving 33 out of 35 shots on goal. Nicholas Perry was in net for Henderson Force and saved a total of 33 out of 38 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: San Diego Sabers’ Sam Bailey scored the power play game winning goal and Knut Hornkvist scored the insurance goal during the second period.
San Diego Sabers Three-Game Series
Nov. 11-16, 2024
The San Diego Sabers traveled to Ontario Center Ice Arena for Game 1 of their three-game series this week and won with a final score of 5-2. The Sabers then traveled back home to Carlsbad Icetown for Game 2 and Game 3 of the series. Game 2 between the Sabers and the Colorado Fighting Elk was canceled due to transportation issues. The Sabers then won Game 3 of the series against Henderson Force with a final score of 5-2. The San Diego Sabers extended their winning streak to five-games after a successful weekend.

GOALTENDING: Viktor Pasztor was able to secure the win for the San Diego Sabers after saving 38 out of 40 shots on goal. Ryan Hicks was in net for Ontario Jr. Reign and saved a total of 34 out of 39 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: San Diego Sabers’ Sammy Albano scored the game winning goal during the second period and also the empty net insurance goal during the third period.

Ontario Jr. Reign Three Game Series
Nov. 11-16, 2024
The Ontario Jr. Reign faced hardship against the San Diego Sabers in Game 1 of their three-game series which ended with a final score of 5-2 in the Sabers’ favor. The team had time to practice and regroup for Game 2 against the Ventura Vikings which resulted in an 8-2 win for the Ontario Jr. Reign. Game 3 of the series against the Colorado Fighting Elk at Ontario Center Ice was canceled which meant that the Jr. Reign split their series.

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a regulation victory for Ontario Jr. Reign (8-2) at Iceoplex Simi Valley.
GOALTENDING: Ryan Hicks was able to secure the win for the Ontario Jr. Reign after saving 24 out of 26 shots on goal. Zachary Follo was initially in net for the Ventura Vikings and saved a total of 21 out of 28 shots on goal before Brasco Cirillo took over during the third period. Brasco Cirillo saved a total of 9 out of 10 shots on goal for the Ontario Jr. Reign.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Ontario Jr. Reign’s Mason Geng scored the game winning goal and Alec Boucher scored the insurance goal during the second period.
HAT-TRICKS: Ontario Jr. Reign’s Alec Boucher recorded his first hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season.

Bakersfield Roughnecks vs. Vernal Oilers
Nov. 15-17, 2024
The Vernal Oilers swept the Bakersfield Roughnecks during their three-game series at Valley Childrens Ice Center. The Oilers kicked off Game 1 of the three-game series with a 5-1 win and carried their momentum into Game 2 with a 6-2 win for the Vernal Oilers. Game 3 of the series was closed out with a 8-2 win in the Vernal Oilers’ favor.

GAME WINNING GOAL: Vernal Oilers’ Gergo Schwartz scored the game winning goal and Rodion Gornostaev scored the insurance goal during the second period.

GAME WINNING GOAL: Vernal Oilers’ Marsel Tynymbayev scored the game winning goal and Logan Powers scored the insurance goal during the second period.

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a triumphant regulation victory for the Vernal Oilers (8-2) at Valley Childrens Ice Center.
GOALTENDING: Michael Marandola was able to secure the win for the Vernal Oilers after saving 27 out of 29 shots on goal. Jakob Barcelona was in net for the Bakersfield Roughnecks and saved a total of 48 out of 56 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Vernal Oilers’ Roni Alanko scored the game winning goal and Logan Baum scored the insurance goal.
HAT-TRICKS: Vernal Oilers’ Roni Alanko recorded a hat-trick after scoring 3 goals during this game.
Overall, Week 10 of the 2024-2025 regular season of the USPHL Pacific Division was full of exciting matchups between the Pacific and Northwest Division. These games resulted in new winning streaks starting, continuing, and ending. There were 2 hat-tricks recorded this past weekend which included: Ontario Jr. Reign’s Alec Boucher (1 HT) and Vernal Oilers’ Roni Alanko (Northwest Division). Looking into this weekend, we have a lot of exciting matchups ahead of us.
