The 2025-26 USPHL regular season for the Pacific Division continued to deliver another set of thrilling wins and tough losses. Read about the exciting wins and fun highlights from the games during the week of February 27-March 1, 2026!
Ontario Jr. Reign Two-Game Series
The Ontario Jr. Reign traveled to Lakewood Ice where they faced the Long Beach Bombers for the last time during the regular season on Friday, February 27, 2026. They then closed out their 2025-26 regular season against the Ventura Vikings on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Iceoplex Simi Valley. Read about how the Ontario Jr. Reign swept their last two-game series of the regular season and ended their season with a twelve-game winning streak.
The Jr. Reign started this series strong with a 1-0 lead secured by the end of the first period when #71 Zack Zhang scored an unanswered goal five minutes and fifteen seconds into the period. The Bombers quickly tied the game with a goal scored by #55 Roman Adomitis early in the second period (1-1). Shortly after their game-tying goal, the Bombers secured their first lead of the game with a power play goal secured by #21 Daniel Fridyand midway through the second period (2-1). The Jr. Reign regrouped and were able to tie the game, 2-2, with a game-tying goal scored by #17 Evan Tsadilas and then went on to regain their one-goal lead with a goal scored by #19 Aiden Yi later in the period (3-2). This goal-scoring momentum continued into the third period as Jr. Reign’s #3 Tyler Yeo scored the last goal of this matchup and ultimately helped his team to secure a 4-2 win. In regards to goaltending, #29 Nicholas Perry was in net for the Jr. Reign and he saved 34 out of 36 shots on goal while Bombers’ #32 Ethan Sellwood-Fernald saved 35 out of 39 shots on goal by the end of this game. The Jr. Reign continued onto an eleven-game winning streak after this Game 1 victory while the Long Beach Bombers ended their 2025-26 regular season with a two-game losing streak.
The Vikings kicked off Game 2 of this series with a 1-0 lead secured by the end of the first period when #10 Nicholas Mardani scored the first goal of this game. It did not take too long for the Jr. Reign to tie the game, 1-1, with a power play goal secured by #48 Marc Belanger after they regrouped during the second period. The Jr. Reign continued to feed off their momentum and gained their first lead of this game when #97 Brennan Monroe scored a goal during the last five minutes of the second period (2-1). The Vikings did not go down without a fight and were able to make it a tied game, 2-2, going into the last period of regulation when #38 Riley Richards scored a power play goal before time ran out in the second period. After regrouping once again during this matchup, the Jr. Reign found themselves with a 6-2 lead against the Vikings before it hit the final five minutes of regulation. The four consecutive Jr. Reign goals recorded during the third period of regulation were scored by the following players: #63 Maddox Derewianka (1G), #95 Jasen Jespersen (1G), #53 Jake Hudec (1PPG), and #71 Zhang (1G). Down by four-goals and with five minutes left in regulation, the Vikings were able to muster one last goal, scored by #38 Richards, which ended the game with a final score of 6-3 in the Jr. Reign’s favor. In regards to goaltending, #33 Domenik Mclnenly secured the Jr. Reign’s win after he saved 30 out of 33 shots on goal while Vikings’ #31 Aiden Biswanger saved 37 out of 43 shots on goal by the end of this game. The Ontario Jr. Reign ended their regular season with a twelve-game winning streak after closing this series with another win recorded. On the other hand, the Ventura Vikings ended the regular season with a one-game losing streak after this tough loss.
San Diego Sabers vs. Fresno Monsters Three-Game Series
The San Diego Sabers traveled to the Gateway Ice Center where they closed out their 2025-26 regular season against the Fresno Monsters. These teams played in a three-game series which started on Friday, February 27, 2026 and ended after their last matchup on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Read about how the Fresno Monsters remained undefeated against the San Diego Sabers after sweeping them during their last three-game series (3-0).
The Monsters kicked off Game 1 with a 4-0 lead secured by the end of the first period after the following players put up four unanswered goals during the first period: #96 William Lindgren (1G), #26 Antti Rajala (1G), #15 Adrian Gomez (1G), and #37 Connor Perdue (1G). This goal-scoring streak continued into the second period which ended, 8-0, in the Monsters’ favor with four additional goals scored by the following players: #21 Brian Erte (1G), #71 Nils Tunbratt (1PPG), #9 Sebastian Vesterlund (1G), and #92 Alex McIssac (1G). The Sabers were able to avoid being shutout during the last period of regulation when #7 Harris Shular secured the first Sabers point of this game (8-1) and #19 Devlin Morgan cut their deficit down to six-goals (8-2). Despite making a commendable last push during the third period, the Sabers fell short to the Monsters who locked-in their 8-2 win by the end of this game. In regards to goaltending, #32 Viktor Pasztor secured the Monsters win after he saved 24 out of 26 shots on goal while Sabers’ #1 Parker Lewis saved 41 out of 49 shots on goal. When looking at winning/losing streaks, the San Diego Sabers found themselves continuing onto a five-game losing streak while the Fresno Monsters started a one-game winning streak after Game 1 in this three-game series.
The Monsters continued to dominate the Sabers and ended the first period of Game 2 with a 4-0 lead when #25 Filipp Papshev (1G, 1PPG) and #13 Jonathan Andersen (2G) scored a total of four unanswered goals. This lead quickly turned into a 5-0 lead for the Monsters when #9 Vesterlund scored a goal five minutes and eight seconds into the second period of regulation. The Sabers were able to get on the board and cut their deficit down to three-goals midway through the second period with two goals scored by #16 Austin Robinson (5-1) and #44 Kai Shepherd (5-2). The Monsters quickly answered back with a power play goal scored by #71 Tunbratt which made it a 6-2 game. Fueled by determination, the Sabers were able to revert their deficit back to three-goals during the final two minutes of the second period when #27 Matthew Matsuda took advantage of a power play opportunity (6-3). Unfortunately for the Sabers, the Monsters remained unfazed by the Sabers’ momentum and made it a four-goal game going into the last period of regulation when #15 Gomez closed out the second period, 7-3. Down by four once again in this series, the Sabers were able to make it a 7-4 game when #97 Andrew Metzger opened up the third period. Despite making a commendable effort to cut their deficits, the Sabers’ last push was not enough to offset the Monsters who ended this game, 9-4, with two additional goals scored by #21 Erte (1G) and #37 Perdue (1G). In regards to goaltending, #30 Niksa Slade secured the Monsters’ win after he saved 25 out of 29 shots on goal while Sabers’ #1 Parker Lewis saved 56 out of 65 shots on goal by the end of this game. With another win secured in this series, the Fresno Monsters found themselves with a two-game winning streak while the San Diego Sabers continued onto a six-game losing streak.
The Monsters closed out the regular season with a 6-0 shutout victory secured during Game 3 of this three-game series. This goal-scoring streak was kicked off with an opening goal scored by #20 Vertti Sakko which gave them a 1-0 lead by the end of the first period. The momentum continued into the second period which ended with the Monsters maintaining a 4-0 lead as three additional goals were scored by #37 Perdue (1G), #71 Tunbratt (1G), and #55 Josef Nystrom (1G). Despite making a commendable effort to cut their deficits during the third period, the Sabers remained scoreless while the Monsters put up two more goals, scored by #25 Papshev (1G) and #22 Keanu Mcclanahan (1G), which ended the game with a 6-0 Monsters shutout. #31 Noah Hammarstrom was in net for the Monsters and secured his fourth shutout of the regular season after he saved all 19 shots on goal that he faced. This loss for the Sabers does not take away from the efforts that #1 Parker Lewis presented in net as he saved 53 out of 59 shots on goal by the end of this game. After a jaw-dropping win, the Fresno Monsters ended this 2025-26 regular season with a three-game winning streak. On the other hand, the San Diego Sabers ended the regular season with a seven-game losing streak.
Lake Tahoe Lakers Four-Game Series
The Lake Tahoe Lakers kicked off Week 22 of the 2025-26 regular season at KJ’s Ice Barn where they faced the Iron County Yeti for the third and final time. This one-game series took place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. They then traveled to the America First Center where they closed out their regular season against Henderson Force in a three-game series. This series against Henderson Force was scheduled to start on Friday, February 27, 2026 and ended after their matchup on Sunday, March 1, 2026. The Lakers struck first with an opening goal scored by #25 Bryn Studney-Amos which gave them an early 1-0 lead. It wasn’t until the latter half of the first period when the Lakers’ lost their lead as the Yeti put up two points with back-to-back goals scored (2-1). These goals did not faze the Lakers as they were able to make it a 2-2 game when #27 Kasper Parkkonen closed out the first period. The Yeti regrouped and were able to maintain a 4-2 lead going into the last period of regulation with two unanswered goals scored during the second period. The Lakers’ struggles continued into the third period as the Yeti extended their lead, 6-2, with another set of back-to-back goals scored. It wasn’t until the latter half of the period when the Lakers were able to cut their deficits and made it a two-goal game, 6-4, with goals scored by #14 Duggan IV (1G) and #25 Studney-Amos (1G). Unfortunately for the Lakers, their last push was not enough to stop the Yeti as they secured their 7-4 win with one last goal scored during the final five minutes of regulation. In regards to goaltending, Yeti’s #34 Franciszek Zrebiec secured his team’s win after he saved 43 out of 47 shots on goal by the end of this game. This Lakers loss does not take away from the commendable in net performance by #1 Kohen Pirrone who saved 10 out of 17 shots on goal before the end of regulation. After a tough loss, the Lake Tahoe Lakers found themselves with an eight-game losing streak while the Iron County Yeti started their one-game winning streak.
The Force kicked off Game 1 in this three-game series against the Lakers with a 2-0 lead secured after #3 Karl Lindberg opened the first period (1-0) and #76 Noah Morency closed out the period (2-0). This momentum continued into the second period of regulation and helped the Force to extend their lead, 6-0, with four additional goals scored by #17 Aleksander Leonelli (1G), #72 Onni Pulkkonen (2G), and #55 Loui Lundahl (1PPG). The Lakers were able to avoid being shutout when #42 Jamie Natali scored their first goal of the game midway through the third period (6-1). Despite making a commendable last push, the Lakers fell short as the Force secured their 6-1 win in Game 1 of this series. In regards to goaltending, #35 Ralfs Kalnins helped to secure the Force’s win after he saved 41 out of 42 shots on goal while Lakers’ #37 Brooks Smyrski saved 44 out of 50 shots on goal by the end of this game. When looking at winning/losing streaks, Henderson Force found themselves with a two-game winning streak after they sent the Lake Tahoe Lakers onto a nine-game losing streak.
After a tough loss, the Lakers were fueled with vengeance and struck first in Game 2 of this series with an opening goal scored by #11 Chayce Tuton twelve seconds into the first period (1-0). The Force quickly answered back and ended the first period with a one-goal lead after back-to-back goals were secured by #27 David Baxter Jr (1-1) and #55 Lundahl (2-1). The second period ended with a 4-3 lead in the Force’s favor with two goals scored by each team. These goals were scored by Forces’ #78 Jan Teterja (1G) and #72 Pulkkonen (1G) as well as Lakers’ #42 Natali (1PPG) and #25 Studney-Amos (1G). The Force went on to extend their lead, 5-3, with a goal scored by #4 Luke Bennett early in the third period. This lead was quickly reverted back to a one-goal lead when the Lakers answered back with a goal scored by #14 Duggan IV (5-4). Despite making a commendable push during the final minutes of regulation, the Lakers ultimately fell short as the Force secured their 6-4 win when #73 Sixten Wramhed closed out the game with one last goal scored. In regards to goaltending, #33 Ralfs Kalnins secured another win for the Force after saved 27 out of 31 shots on goal while Lakers’ #33 Ryder Selbee saved 60 out of 65 shots on goal. With another win recorded during this series, Henderson Force found themselves with a three-game winning streak while the Lake Tahoe Lakers continued onto a ten-game losing streak.
The Force’s momentum continued into Game 3 of this series which helped them to end the first period with a 5-1 lead. The one Lakers goal recorded during the first period was scored by #27 Parkkonen and the five Force goals were scored by the following players: #55 Lundahl (1PPG), #75 Nicholas Correnti (1G), #78 Jan Teterja (1G), #17 Leonelli (1G), and #3 Lindberg (1G). This goal-scoring streak continued into the second period as the Force gained an 8-1 lead over the Lakers with three consecutive goals scored by #17 Leonelli (1G), #75 Correnti (1G), and #78 Teterja (1G) during the beginning half of the period. Down by seven goals, the Lakers were able to muster one goal, scored by #34 Mavric Boses during the latter half of the period which made it an 8-2 game going into the last period of regulation. The Lakers’ struggles continued into the third period as they were unable to answer back to three additional Force goals scored which ultimately secured their 11-2 win. The three unanswered Force goals recorded during the third period were scored by #27 Baxter Jr (1G), #45 Simon Lassus Engstrom (1G), and #75 Correnti (1G). In regards to goaltending, the Force won this game after their goaltending tandem saved 20 out of 22 shots on goal. The Force initially had #33 Stephan Vedernikov in net and he saved 19 out of 21 shots on goal before #29 Daniel Peebles took over in net for the remainder of the game and saved the one shot on goal that he was faced with. The Lakers’ goaltending tandem saved 37 out of 48 shots on goal by the end of this game. The Lakers initially had #1 Kohen Pirrone in net and he saved 16 out of 21 shots on goal by the end of the first period before #37 Brooks Smyrski took over for the remainder of the game. Lakers’ #37 Smyrski ended up saving 21 out of 27 shots on goal by the end of regulation. An accomplishment to highlight from this game is #75 Nicholas Correnti’s first hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season being recorded after he scored three goals during this game. After a thrilling series, Henderson Force ended their regular season with a four-game winning streak while the Lake Tahoe Lakers ended this season with an eleven-game losing streak.
Overall, Week 22 of the 2025-26 USPHL Pacific Division was full of thrilling outcomes and high-scoring wins. Some memorable moments from this past week included multiple winning/losing streaks being extended, a Fresno Monsters’ 6-0 shutout, and the last hat-trick secured for this regular season. The 1 hat-trick recorded during the last week of the regular season was secured by Henderson Force’s #75 Nicholas Correnti.
