The 2025-26 USPHL regular season for the Pacific Division continued to deliver another set of thrilling wins and tough losses. Read about the exciting wins and fun highlights from the games during the week of February 5-7, 2026!
Ontario Jr. Reign vs. San Diego Sabers Two-Game Series
The Ontario Jr. Reign traveled to Ice Realm Carlsbad where they faced the San Diego Sabers for the ninth and tenth time during this 2025-26 regular season. These teams played in a two-game series which started on Friday, February 6, 2026 and ended after their matchup on Saturday, February 7, 2026. The Jr. Reign started Game 1 strong with a one-goal lead recorded by the end of the first period which was made possible with #25 Jackson Tremblay’s power play goal (1-0). Sabers’ #7 Harris Shular tied the game, 1-1, with a power play goal scored early in the second period. With three seconds remaining in the second period, #3 Tyler Yeo regained the Jr. Reign’s one-goal lead with a power play goal secured (2-1). Although the Sabers put up a good fight during the third period, the Jr. Reign remained unfazed and ended the game with a final score of 4-1 with two unanswered goals scored by #97 Brennan Monroe (1G) and #25 Tremblay (1G). In regards to goaltending, #29 Nicholas Perry captured the Jr. Reign’s win after he saved 20 out of 21 shots on goal while Sabers’ #71 Stephan Vedernikov saved 37 out of 41 shots on goal. The Ontario Jr. Reign continued onto a four-game winning streak and extended the Sabers’ streak into a two-game losing streak after ending this game victoriously.
The Jr. Reign’s momentum continued into Game 2 of this series which helped them to end the first period, 5-0, with 5 unanswered goals scored by the following players: #63 Maddox Derewianka (1G), #3 Yeo (2G), #97 Monroe (1G), and #26 Scott Whitecotton (1G). The Sabers were able to cut their deficit down to four-goals when #8 Owen Robertson capitalized on the man-advantage and successfully scored a power play goal midway through the second period (5-1). With two minutes remaining in the second period, the Jr. Reign regained their five-goal lead when #17 Evan Tsadilas successfully scored a power play goal (6-1). Despite making a great effort to get on the board, the Sabers fell short as #33 Domenik Mclnenly’s goaltending performance for the Jr. Reign remained solid and secured their 6-1 win after he saved 33 out of 34 shots on goal. By closing this series with another win recorded, the Ontario Jr. Reign are now on a five-game winning streak while the San Diego Sabers continue onto a three-game losing streak.
Ventura Vikings vs. Henderson Force Three-Game Series
The Ventura Vikings and Henderson Force traveled to Ice Dean Chandler where they faced one another for the final time during the 2025-26 regular season. These teams played in a three-game series which started on Thursday, February 5, 2026 and ended after their matchup on Saturday, February 7, 2026. The Force shutout the Vikings with a jaw-dropping final score of 13-0 in Game 1 of this three-game series. The goal-scoring momentum started off with a 6-0 lead secured by the end of the first period with goals scored by the following players: #26 Reese Hicks (1PPG), #72 Onni Pulkkonen (1G), #17 Aleksander Leonelli (1G), #4 Luke Bennett (1G), #10 Christopher Bruder (1G), and #3 Karl Lindberg (1G). This streak continued into the second period which ended with a score of 11-0 when five unanswered goals were scored by the following Force players: #27 David Baxter Jr. (1G), #72 Pulkkonen (2G), #3 Lindberg (1G), and #17 Leonelli (1G). Although the Vikings made a valiant last push to get onto the board during the last period of regulation, their overall efforts fell short as the Force closed out this game, 13-0, with the final two goals of the game being scored by #72 Pulkkonen (1G) and 9 Ryan Williams (1G). This impressive shutout would not have been possible without the outstanding goaltending performance by #35 Ralfs Kalnins who saved all 22 shots on goal. Accomplishments to highlight from this game included #72 Onni Pulkkonen recording his first hat-trick of the regular season with the Force and #35 Ralfs Kalnins securing his fifth shutout victory. After a dominant start of this series, Henderson Force found themselves with a fifteen-game winning streak while the Ventura Vikings continued onto an eight-game losing streak.
After a tough loss, the Vikings entered Game 2 with vengeance and ended the first period with a score of 3-1. The goals scored during the first period included a Force power play goal scored by #26 Hicks and three Vikings goals scored by #47 Reese Tittle (1G), #10 Nicholas Mardani (1G), and #51 Joe Lawrence (1G). The Vikings’ momentum continued with back-to-back goals scored by #51 Lawrence (1G) and #38 Riley Richards (1G) which gave them a 5-1 lead during the beginning of the second period. The Force battled hard and were able to cut their deficit with a power play goal scored by #72 Pulkkonen which made it a 5-2 game going into the last period of regulation. After a valiant effort, the Force fell short despite making it a two-goal game with another goal scored by #72 Pulkkonen late in the third period (5-3). In regards to goaltending, #28 Alexander Wendt secured the Vikings’ win after he saved 36 out of 39 shots on goal by the end of this game. By redeeming themselves in Game 2 of this series, the Ventura Vikings found themselves with a one-game winning streak after ending Henderson Force’s fifteen-game winning streak.
The end of the Force’s double-digit winning streak lit a fire within the team which blazed through Game 3 of this series and helped them gain a 2-0 lead by the end of the first period. The two Force goals recorded during the first period were scored by #7 Landen Hindman (1G) and #26 Hicks (1G). Down by two, the Vikings regrouped and cut their deficit by one-goal when #6 Ethan Yang scored a minute and fifty-one seconds into the second period (2-1). Unfortunately for the Vikings, their last push during the third period was not enough to overtake the Force as they closed out the game, 4-1, with additional goals scored by #11 Frank Barncord (1G) and #55 Loui Lundahl (1G). In regards to goaltending, #35 Ralfs Kalnins secured the Force’s win after he saved 23 out of 24 shots on goal while Vikings’ #28 Alexander Wendt saved 52 out of 55 shots on goal. By ending Game 3 of this series with a win, Henderson Force are now on a one-game winning streak while the Ventura Vikings start their one-game losing streak.
Long Beach Bombers vs. Fresno Monsters Three-Game Series
The Long Beach Bombers and Fresno Monsters traveled to Selland Arena where they faced one another for the final time during the 2025-26 regular season. These teams played in a three-game series which started on Thursday, February 5, 2026 and ended after their matchup on Saturday, February 7, 2026. The Monsters opened Game 1 with a goal scored by #96 William Lindgren nine minutes and twenty-eight seconds into the first period which gave them an early 1-0 lead. The Bombers answered back urgently with a game-tying goal scored by #11 Marcus Vargas which made it a 1-1 game. This game-tying goal did not hinder the Monsters as they regained their one-goal lead when #13 Jonathan Andersen closed out the first period and gave the Monsters a 2-1 lead. This momentum continued into the second period which ended with a score of 6-1 as the Monsters recorded five unanswered goals which were scored by the following players: #6 Lodyn Rueckel (1G), #21 Brian Erte (1G), #5 Keegan Iwahashi (1G), and #71 Nils Tunbratt (1G). Despite making a great effort to cut their deficit, the Bombers fell short as the Monsters continued to dominate the game and ended the last period of regulation with a final score of 12-1. The six Monsters goals recorded during the third period were scored by the following players: #13 Andersen (2G), #22 Keanu Mcclanahan (1G), #96 Lindgren (2G), and #9 Sebastian Vesterlund (1G). In regards to goaltending, #32 Viktor Pasztor was in net for the Monsters and secured his team’s win after saving 36 out of 37 shots on goal. Accomplishments to highlight from this game would be #13 Jonathan Andersen recording his third hat-trick and #96 William Lindgren recording his second hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season. After a thrilling start to this series, the Fresno Monsters found themselves with a two-game winning streak while the Long Beach Bombers started their one-game losing streak.
The Monsters’ momentum continued into Game 2 as they finished the first period with a 3-1 lead. The Bombers goal scored during the first period was recorded by #61 Steven Anderson and the three Monsters goals were scored by #96 Lindgren (1G), #15 Adrian Gomez (1G), and #6 Rueckel (1G). Down by two, the Bombers were able to muster another goal in the latter half of the second period which ended with a score of 3-2 in the Monsters’ favor. The Monsters regained their two-goal lead with a goal scored by #21 Erte which made it 4-2 game. This two-goal lead was quickly reverted back to a one-goal game when #61 Anderson scored a couple minutes later (4-3). Although the Bombers made a commendable effort to tie the game and force overtime, their last push fell short as Monsters’ goaltender, #30 Niksa Slade, secured his team’s win after he saved 16 out of 19 shots on goal. This loss does not take away from #98 Sebastian Kica’s efforts in net for the Bombers as he saved 51 out of 54 shots on goal by the end of this game. With another win under their belt, the Fresno Monsters found themselves with a three-game winning streak while the Long Beach Bombers continued onto a two-game losing streak.
The first period of Game 3 was opened up by the Monsters who were able to gain an early 1-0 lead when #15 Gomez capitalized on the man advantage which resulted in a successful power play goal. Midway through the period, the Bombers tied the game, 1-1, with a goal scored by #61 Steven Anderson. With forty-seconds remaining in the first period, the Monsters regained their one-goal lead when #13 Jonathan Andersen closed out the period 2-1. The second and third period of this game remained scoreless after a hard-fought goaltending duel between Monsters’ #30 Niksa Slade and Bombers’ #98 Alexis Dumont. In the end, #30 Niksa Slade secured the Monsters’ 2-1 win after he saved 44 out of 45 shots on goal. This loss for the Bombers does not take away from the commendable in net performance by #98 Alexis Dumont who saved 35 out of 37 shots on goal by the end of this game. Going into their future matchups, the Fresno Monsters are now on a four-game winning streak after extending the Long Beach Bombers’ streak onto a three-game losing streak.
Overall, Week 19 of the 2025-26 USPHL Pacific Division was full of thrilling outcomes and high-scoring wins. A couple memorable moments from this past week included multiple winning/losing streaks being extended and a double-digit Henderson Force shutout. There were 3 hat-tricks recorded during week 19 of the regular season which was secured by Henderson Force’s #72 Onni Pulkkonen and Fresno Monsters’ #13 Jonathan Andersen and #96 William Lindgren. Looking ahead, we have a couple three-game series scheduled during Week 20 of the regular season.
