Week 17 USPHL 2025-26 Pacific Division Recap

The 2025-26 USPHL regular season for the Pacific Division continued to deliver another set of thrilling wins and tough losses. Read about the exciting wins and fun highlights from the games during the week of January 22-24, 2026!


Ontario Jr. Reign Two-Game Series 

The Ontario Jr. Reign played in a two-game series this week which started on Friday, January 23, 2026 against the San Diego Sabers at Ice Realm Carlsbad. After this matchup, the team traveled back to home ice at the Ontario Center Ice Arena on Saturday, January 24, 2026 and faced Henderson Force for the last time in the 2025-26 regular season. Read about how the San Diego Sabers and Henderson Force were able to muster a win against the Ontario Jr. Reign during Week 17 of the regular season.  


Despite the Jr. Reign maintaining puck possession for the majority of this game, the San Diego Sabers dominated all three periods and had a 3-0 lead up until the midway point of the third period. The Sabers’ three goals were scored by #17 Nick Ryan (1G) during the first period, #91 Briar Dickson (1PPG) during the second period, and #7 Harris Shular (1PPG) during the third period. The Jr. Reign were able to make it a two-goal goal when #22 Samuel Delaquis scored in the latter half of the third period, however, their overall last push was not enough to offset the Sabers’ lead (3-1). In regards to goaltending, #52 Viktor Pasztor secured the Sabers’ 3-1 win after he saved 42 out of 43 shots on goal while Jr. Reign’s #32 Makai Collins saved a total of 26 out of 29 shots on goal. The San Diego Sabers ended their three-game losing streak after winning Game 1 of this series. This loss for the Ontario Jr. Reign ended up extending their streak to a three-game losing streak. 


The Jr. Reign’s upset continued into Game 2 of this series as the Force got on the board with two back-to-back goals scored by #26 Reese Hicks (1G) and #75 Nicholas Correnti (1G) during the first period (2-0). The Jr. Reign were able to cut their deficit and make it a one-goal game when #97 Brennan Monroe scored with two minutes left in the first period (2-1). The game remained, 2-1, in the Force’s favor due to the impressive goaltending battle by Jr. Reign’s #29 Nicholas Perry and #35 Ralfs Kalnins. After a scoreless second and third period, #35 Kalnins secured the Force’s 2-1 win after he saved 28 out of 29 shots on goal while Jr. Reign’s #29 Perry saved 25 out of 27 shots on goal. With another gutsy win recorded during Week 17 of the regular season, Henderson Force found themselves with an outstanding twelve-game winning streak after extending the Jr. Reign’s streak into a four-game losing streak.  


Long Beach Bombers Three-Game Series

The Long Beach Bombers were scheduled for a three-game series on home ice at Lakewood Ice during Week 17 of the regular season. This series started off with the Long Beach Bombers facing Henderson Force for the last time during the 2025-26 regular season in a two-game series which started on Thursday, January 22, 2026 and ended after their matchup on Friday, January 23, 2026. The San Diego Sabers then traveled to Lakewood Ice to face the Long Beach Bombers for the last time in the regular season on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Read about how the Long Beach Bombers persevered through their hardships and gained a win against the San Diego Sabers after being swept by Henderson Force.


The Force had a strong start to Game 1 of this series as they ended the first period, 3-1, with a Bombers goal scored by #55 Roman Adomitis (1G) as well as three Force goals scored by #75 Nicholas Correnti (2G) and #10 Christopher Bruder (1G). This momentum continued into the second period as the Force extended their lead with three unanswered goals scored by #55 Loui Lundahl (1PPG), #24 Nikodem Wroblewski (1G) and  #77 Riku Permi (1G) which made it a 6-1 game going into the last period of regulation. After a rough second period, the Bombers opened up the third period with three goals scored by #55 Adomitis (1G), #23 Arthur Seamus McCown (1PPG), and #14 Jackson Litzinger (1G) which momentarily cut their deficit down to two-goals (6-4). The Force remained unfazed by the Bombers and closed out the game, 8-4, with two additional goals scored by #11 Frank Barncord (1G) and #77 Permi (1G) during the latter half of the third period. After a successful goaltending performance, #29 Daniel Peebles secured the Force’s win after he saved 31 out of 35 shots on goal. With another win under their belt, Henderson Force found themselves with a ten-game winning streak after ending the Long Beach Bombers’ one-game winning streak. 


The Bombers entered their final matchup against the Force with vengeance and ended the first period, 1-0, with a goal scored by #19 Rohan Bhangoo. Down by one, the Force regrouped during intermission and were able to muster four unanswered goals scored by #75 Correnti (1G), #17 Aleksander Leonelli (1G), #4 Luke Bennett (1G), and #77 Permi (1G) which gave them a 4-1 lead going into the last period of regulation. The Bombers were able to answer back with a goal scored by #23 McCown twenty-eight seconds into the third period which momentarily cut their deficit down to two-goals (4-2). Unfortunately for the Bombers, their last push was not enough to hinder the Force as they ended the game, 8-2, with four unanswered goals scored by #10 Bruder (2G), #28 Nicholas Gallagher (1G), and #24 Wroblewski (1G). In regards to goaltending, #35 Ralfs Kalnins secured the Force’s win after he saved 32 out of 34 shots on goal while Bombers’ #33 Alexis Dumont saved 27 out of 35 shots on goal. When looking at winning/losing streaks, the Long Beach Bombers are now on a two-game losing streak while Henderson Force continued onto an eleven-game winning streak after sweeping the Long Beach Bombers in Game 2 of this series. 


The Bombers entered this final matchup against the Sabers with vengeance and were able to maintain a 5-0 lead until the last five minutes of regulation. The opening goal of this game was a power play goal scored by #39 Hubert Blanchettetasse fifteen minutes and twenty-one seconds into the first period (1-0). The second period remained scoreless and in the Bombers’ favor, 1-0, despite the Bombers’ ability to maintain puck possession throughout the whole period. It wasn’t until the third period when the Bombers put up four back-to-back goals scored by #9 Charlie Cheetham (1G), #11 Marcus Vargas (1G), #23 McCown (1G), and #14 Litzinger (1PPG) which gave them a 5-0 lead. The Sabers were able to avoid being shut out by the Bombers when #24 Sammy Albano scored the last goal of the game with four minutes remaining in regulation (5-1). In regards to goaltending, #98 Sebastian Kica secured the Bombers’ 5-1 win after he saved 35 out of 36 shots on goal while Sabers’ #56 Samuel Kadison saved 32 out of 37 shots on goal. The Long Beach Bombers are now on a one-game winning streak after their Game 3 victory in their three-game series. On the other hand, the San Diego Sabers are now on a one-game losing streak after this loss. 


Ventura Vikings vs. Fresno Monsters Three-Game Series 

The Ventura Vikings traveled to Gateway Ice Center where they faced the Fresno Monsters for the last time during the 2025-26 regular season. These teams played in a three-game series which started on Thursday, January 22, 2026 and ended after their game on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Read about how the Fresno Monsters swept the Ventura Vikings, 3-0, during their last regular season series against one another. 


After a relatively quiet first period, the Vikings found themselves with a 1-0 lead going into the second period when #9 Cosimo Repaci scored the opening goal of the game. The Monsters regrouped and answered back with three goals scored by #15 Adrian Gomez (1G), #37 Connor Perdue (1G), and #96 William Lindgren (1G) two minutes into the second period (3-1). This momentum did not hinder the Vikings as #74 Ethan Yang (1G) and #51 Joe Lawrence (1G) made it a tied game midway through the period (3-3). Another goal was scored by both teams as Vikings’ #38 Riley Richards (1G) answered back to Monsters’ #15 Gomez’s goal (1G) which maintained the tied standstill, 4-4. The third period remained scoreless which ultimately forced the teams into a shootout (4-4). After a hard-fought goaltending battle, #30 Niksa Slade secured the Monsters’ 5-4 shootout win when he saved 32 out of 36 shots on goal while Vikings’ #28 Alexander Wendt saved 56 out of 60 shots on goal. The Fresno Monsters found themselves with a three-game winning streak after extending the Vikings’ streak to a three-game losing streak in Game 1 of this series. 


The first period ended with an intense 2-2 tied standstill when two Monsters goals were scored by #37 Perdue (1G) and #92 Alex McIssac (1G) as well as two Vikings goals scored by #2 Josh Halliday (1G) and #38 #53 Calvin Ruggiero (1G). The Vikings broke the tied standstill five minutes and fifty-seven seconds into the second period of the game with a goal scored by #38 Richards, which momentarily made it a 3-2 game. This one-goal Vikings lead did not last long as the Monsters answered back with three back-to-back goals scored by #21 Brian Erte (1G), #20 Vertti Sakko (1G), and #96 Lindgren (1G) which made it a 5-3 game in their favor. The Vikings were able to cut their deficit down to one-goal when #38 Richards scored with two minutes remaining in the second period (5-4). The game quickly reverted back into a tied game, 5-5, when #2 Halliday scored the game-tying goal for the Vikings. With twenty-four seconds remaining in regulation, Monsters’ #15 Gomez scored the last goal of the game which secured their 6-5 win against the Vikings in Game 2 of this series. The Monsters’ win would not have been possible without the gutsy goaltending performance of #30 Niksa Slade who saved 40 out of 45 shots on goal. The Vikings’ loss in this game does not take away from the commendable in net performance of #28 Alexander Wendt who saved 39 out of 45 shots on goal by the end of this game. With another win recorded, the Fresno Monsters found themselves with a four-game winning streak while the Ventura Vikings continued onto a four-game losing streak. 


The Vikings struck first with a goal scored by #10 Nicholas Mardani which gave them a 1-0 lead early in the first period. Down by one and on the man advantage, Monsters’ #9 Sebastian Vesterlund successfully scored a power play goal midway through the first period which made it a tied game going into the second period (1-1). The game remained tied, 3-3, with two Monsters goals scored by #13 Jonathan Andersen (2G) as well as two Vikings goals scored by #74 Yang (1G) and #53 Ruggiero (1G). The Vikings found their rhythm during the beginning half of the third period and put up two back-to-back goals scored by #51 Lawrence which gave them a 5-3 lead. During the latter half of the period, the Monsters regrouped and were able to answer back and tied the game, 5-5, with two goals scored by #20 Sakko (1PPG) and #96 Lindgren (1G). The game-tying Monsters goals ended up forcing the teams into their last overtime against one another during the regular season. Overtime remained scoreless until the last five seconds when Monsters’ #20 Sakko scored the game-winning goal of the game and helped his team secure their 6-5 overtime win. In regards to goaltending, Monsters’ #31 Noah Hammarstrom secured his first overtime win of the season after he saved 41 out of 46 shots on goal while Vikings’ #31 Aiden Biswanger saved 69 out of 75 shots on goal. After another hard-fought battle in Game 3 of this series, the Fresno Monsters are on a five-game winning streak while the Ventura Vikings continue onto a five-game losing streak. 


Overall, Week 17 of the 2025-26 USPHL Pacific Division was full of thrilling outcomes and high-scoring wins. A couple memorable moments from this past week included multiple winning/losing streaks being extended and the Fresno Monsters’ two overtime wins. Looking ahead, we have a two-game series and a few three-game series scheduled during Week 18 of the regular season.
