The 2025-26 USPHL regular season for the Pacific Division continued to deliver another set of thrilling wins and tough losses. Read about the exciting wins and fun highlights from the games during the week of January 8-11, 2026!
Long Beach Bombers vs. San Diego Sabers Two-Game Series
The Long Beach Bombers and San Diego Sabers faced each other for the last time during the 2025-26 regular season in a two-game series. The Long Beach Bombers kicked off this series on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Ice Realm Carlsbad and ended the series after their game on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Lakewood Ice. Although the Sabers maintained puck possession throughout the first period of Game 1, both teams went into the second period with a tied standstill, 1-1, after Bombers’ #55 Roman Adomitis (1PPG) answered back to Sabers’ #27 Matthew Matsuda’s opening goal (1G). This tied standstill was broken during the second period when #17 Nick Ryan scored the Sabers’ first power play goal of this matchup which gave them a one-goal lead going into the last period of regulation (2-1). Despite tying the game with a power play goal scored by #39 Hubert Blanchettetasse a minute and thirty-one seconds into the third period (2-2), the Bombers’ last push was not enough to hinder the Sabers as they ended the game with a final score of 4-2. The two Sabers goals recorded during the last period of regulation were scored by #23 Payton Hauge (1PPG) and #17 Nick Ryan (1G). In regards to goaltending, #1 Stephan Vedernikov secured the Sabers win after he saved 28 out of 30 shots on goal while Bombers’ #1 Sebastian Kica saved 41 out of 45 shots on goal. After a thrilling start to this series, the San Diego Sabers found themselves with a one-game winning streak after ending the Long Beach Bombers’ four-game winning streak.
The Bombers came into Game 2 with vengeance as they struck first with the opening goal scored by #55 Adomitis (1-0). Although the Sabers answered back during the latter half with a goal scored by #2 James Schneider (1-1), the Bombers regained their one-goal lead when #14 Jackson Litzinger (1G) closed out the first period and made it a 2-1 game. The Sabers tied the game, 2-2, with a power play goal scored by #8 Owen Robertson (1G). This was followed up by #18 Jeremy Adkins (1G) giving the Sabers their first lead of this game with a power play goal scored during the beginning half of the second period (3-2). The Bombers did not back down and tied game, 3-3, during the final five minutes of the period with a power play goal scored by #55 Adomitis. The teams remained at a tied standstill, 4-4, with a Sabers goal scored by #24 Sammy Albano (1G) and a Bombers’ goal scored by #55 Adomitis (1G). This back-and-forth battle continued into the third period as Sabers’ #7 Harris Shular (1G, 1PPG) put up two goals and gave his team a 6-4 lead until Bombers’ #55 Adomitis (1G) and #39 Blanchettetasse (1PPG) closed out the third period, 6-6, and forced overtime. After a hard-fought battle, Sabers’ #27 Matsuda scored the game winning overtime goal which ended the game with a 7-6 victory. In regards to goaltending, Sabers’ #1 Parker Lewis recorded his first overtime win of the regular season after saved 31 out of 37 shots on goal while Bombers’ #38 Logan Gibbs saved 38 out of 45 shots on goal. Another accomplishment recorded during this game included Bombers’ #55 Roman Adomitis’ first hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season. After an intense battle, the San Diego Sabers found themselves with a two-game winning streak after extending the Long Beach Bombers’ streak to a two-game losing streak.
Ontario Jr. Reign vs. Ventura Vikings Two-Game Series
The Ventura Vikings and Ontario Jr. Reign faced one another in a two-game series which started on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Iceoplex Simi Valley and ended on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Ontario Center Ice Arena. Read about how these teams split this series in the fourth and fifth time that they played against one another during the regular season.
The Vikings struck first and closed out the first period of Game 1 with a 1-0 lead after #38 Riley Richards scored the opening goal. Although the Jr. Reign answered back with a game-tying power play goal scored by #53 Jake Hudec early in the second period (1-1), the Vikings regained their one-goal lead when #95 Dylan Hazuka scored later in the period (2-1). Despite making a great effort to tie the game, the Jr. Reign struggled to get on the board again after Vikings’ #6 Ethan Yang scored the last goal of the game (3-1). After a hard-fought goaltending battle, #28 Alexander Wendt secured the Vikings’ win after he saved 30 out of 31 shots on goal by the end of this game. With another win under their belt, the Ventura Vikings found themselves with a seven-game winning streak and their first win against the Ontario Jr. Reign by ending the Ontario Jr. Reign’s two-game winning streak.
The first period of Game 2 ended with a tied standstill, 1-1, after Vikings’ #14 Dominick Ybarra (1G) answered back to Jr. Reign’s #26 Scott Whitecotton (1G) opening goal. The Jr. Reign regrouped and were able to extend their lead by two-goals after #3 Christian Martinez (1G) opened up the second period with a power play goal and #25 Jackson Tremblay (1G) closed out the period (3-1). Although the Vikings were able to momentarily make it a one-goal game early in the third period with a goal scored by #14 Ybarra (3-2), the Jr. Reign secured their 4-2 win when #83 Noah Neil scored the last goal of the game. In regards to goaltending, #32 Makai Collins secured the Jr. Reign’s win after he saved 24 out of 26 shots on goal while Vikings’ #31 Aiden Biswanger saved 22 out of 26 shots on goal. By redeeming themselves from their previous loss, the Ontario Jr. Reign are now on a one-game winning streak after ending the Ventura Vikings’ seven-game winning streak.
Lake Tahoe Lakers vs. Fresno Monsters Three-Game Series
The Lake Tahoe Lakers traveled to the Gateway Ice Center where they faced the Fresno Monsters for the last time during the 2025-26 regular season. This three-game series started on Thursday, January 8, 2026 and ended after their matchup on Saturday, January 10, 2026. The first period of Game 1 ended with a tied standstill, 1-1, after Lakers’ Carver Alford (1PPG) answered back to Monsters’ #26 Antti Rajala’s opening goal (1G). The Lakers’ goal did not hinder the Monsters as they took control over the second period and extended their lead by two-goals (3-1). The two Monsters goals recorded during the second period were scored by #5 Keegan Iwahashi (1G) and #96 William Lindgren (1G). Although the Lakers were able to put up one more point with a goal scored by #39 Jamie Natali midway through the third period, their efforts were not enough to offset the Monsters who ended the game with a final score of 5-2 with two additional goals scored by #15 Adrian Gomez (1G) and #26 Rajala (1G). In regards to goaltending, #31 Noah Hammarstrom secured the Monsters’ win after he saved 20 out of 22 shots on goal while Lakers’ #31 Liam Freel saved 30 out of 35 shots on goal. With another win recorded, the Fresno Monsters found themselves with a six-game winning streak after ending the Lake Tahoe Lakers’ one-game winning streak.
The Monsters’ momentum continued into Game 2 of this series as they triumphantly shut out the Lakers and ended this game with a final score of 10-0. The first period ended with a 4-0 lead for the Monsters with goals scored by #20 Vertti Sakko (1G, 1PPG), #21 Brian Erte (1G), and #96 Lindgren (1G). This goal-scoring momentum carried into the second period which ended, 9-0, with five goals scored by the following players: #96 Lindgren (1G), #37 Connor Perdue (1PPG), #20 Sakko (1PPG), and #9 Sebastian Vesterlund (1G, 1PPG). Despite their commendable attempts to get onto the board, the Lakers struggles continued into the third period as Monsters’ #55 Josef Nystrom scored the last goal of the game and extended their lead by one-goal. This 10-0 shutout was made possible by the outstanding goaltending performance by #31 Noah Hammarstrom, who recorded his fourth shutout of the regular season after he saved all 14 shots on goal that he faced by the end of this game. Another accomplishment recorded during this game was by #20 Vertti Sakko, who secured his third hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season. After a thrilling win, the Fresno Monsters found themselves with a seven-game winning streak while the Lake Tahoe Lakers continued onto a two-game losing streak.
The Monsters continued to dominate this series as they ended the first period, 5-1, with one Lakers goal scored by #14 Leo Matthew Duggan IV (1G) and five Monsters goals scored by the following players: #21 Erte (1PPG), #15 Gomez (1G), #71 Nils Tunbratt (1G), and #13 Jonathan Andersen (1G, 1PPG). Although the Lakers struck first during the second period with a power play goal scored by #27 Kasper Parkkonen (5-2), the Monsters’ momentum remained unfazed as #13 Jonathan Andersen made it a 6-2 game after he recorded his second hat-trick of the regular season. #20 Sakko extended the Monsters lead during the final two minutes of the second period and made it a 7-2 game going into the last period of regulation. After an intense battle during the third period, the Monsters remained on top as they closed out Game 3 with a final score of 12-6. The four Lakers goals scored during the third period were by the following players: #27 Parkkonen (1PPG), #34 Mavric Boses (2G), and #24 Lewis Beddow (1G). The five Monsters goals scored during the third period were by the following players: #96 Lindgren (1G, 1PPG), #20 Sakko (1G, 1PPG), and #55 Josef Nystrom (1G). Another accomplishment recorded during this game was by #20 Vertti Sakko who secured his fourth hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season. With another high-scoring win recorded, the Fresno Monsters are now on an eight-game winning streak while the Lake Tahoe Lakers continue onto a three-game losing streak.
Iron County Yeti vs Henderson Force Three-Game Series
The Iron County Yeti traveled to the America First Center where they faced Henderson Force for the last time during the 2025-26 regular season. This three-game series began on Friday, January 9, 2026 and ended after their game on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Henderson Force entered the new year with a bang as they dominated the Iron County Yeti and shut them out, 10-0, in Game 1 of this three-game series. The first period ended with a final score of 6-0 with goals scored by the following players: #73 Sixten Wramhed (1G, 1 PPG), #9 Ryan Williams (1G), #23 Riley Cumby (1G), #88 Ryan Pavlinsky (1PPG), and #26 Reese Hicks (1PPG). The Force then extended their lead to 8-0 after two goals were scored by #10 Christopher Bruder (2G) during the second period. Although the Yeti did make a commendable effort to get on the board, their attempts were not enough to offset the Force as they ended this game, 10-0, with two goals scored by #3 Karl Lindberg (1G) and #26 Hicks (1G) during the third period. This 10-0 shutout was made possible by the impressive goaltending performance of #35 Ralfs Kalnins who recorded his fourth shutout of the regular season after he saved all 18 shots on goal that he faced by the end of this game. After a thrilling win, Henderson Force found themselves with a four-game winning streak after extending the Iron County Yeti’s streak to a seven-game losing streak.
The Force’s momentum continued into Game 2 of this series as three unanswered goals were scored by #88 Pavlinsky (1G), #26 Hicks (1PPG), and #36 Luke Bennett (1G) which ultimately gave them a 3-0 lead going into the second period. The Yeti got on the board with an early goal scored by #20 Karsten Powsey during the second period (3-1), however, this goal did not hinder the Force as they put up another set of three unanswered goals before the end of the period (6-1). The three Force goals were scored by #27 David Baxter Jr (1G), #88 Pavlinsky (1G), and #48 Bradyn Holmes (1G) during the second period. The Yeti made one last push during the third and were able to put up a power play goal, scored by #22 Matej Zeman, which momentarily made it a four-goal game (6-2). However, the Yeti’s commendable efforts were not enough to overtake the Force as #88 Pavlinsky made it a 7-2 game after he recorded his first hat-trick of the regular season. In regards to goaltending, #35 Ralfs Kalnins secured another win for the Force after he saved 26 out of 28 shots on goal while Yeti’s #48 Corbin Dugan saved 58 out of 65 shots on goal. With another win secured, Henderson Force found themselves with a five-game winning streak while the Iron County Yeti continued onto their eight-game losing streak.
The first period of Game 3 ended with a 2-1 lead for the Force after #77 Riku Permi (1PPG) and #73 Wramhed (1G) opened up the game with two-goals scored and Yeti’s #7 William Hagenmarck closed out the period. The Force’s momentum continued into the second period as #26 Hicks scored a power play goal which remained unanswered and gave them a 3-1 lead going into the last period of regulation. Although the Yeti were are able to get another point on the board with a goal scored by #7 Hagenmarck (3-2), their commendable efforts were not enough to offset the Force who ended the game with a final score of 6-2. The final three Force goals recorded during the last period of regulation were scored by #11 Frank Barncord (1G), #26 Hicks (1G), and #24 Nikodem Wroblewski (1PPG). In regards to goaltending, #29 Daniel Peebles secured the Force’s win after he saved 17 out of 19 shots on goal. After an impressive series, Henderson Force are now on a six-game winning streak after extending the Iron County Yeti’s streak into a nine-game losing streak.
Overall, Week 15 of the 2025-26 USPHL Pacific Division was full of thrilling outcomes and high-scoring wins. Some memorable moments from this past week included multiple winning/losing streaks being extended, five hat-tricks being recorded, and a couple double-digit shootout wins. There were 5 hat-tricks recorded during week 15 of the regular season which were secured by Long Beach Bombers’ #55 Roman Adomitis (1HT), Henderson Force’s #88 Ryan Pavlinsky (1HT), and Fresno Monsters’ #13 Jonathan Andersen (1HT) and #20 Vertti Sakko (2HT). Looking ahead, we have a one-game and a couple three-game series planned during Week 16 of the regular season.
