Week 13 USPHL 2025-26 Pacific Division Recap

The 2025-26 USPHL regular season for the Pacific Division continued to deliver another set of thrilling wins and tough losses. Read about the exciting wins and fun highlights from the games during December 12-14, 2025!


Ontario Jr. Reign vs. San Diego Sabers One-Game Series 

The San Diego Sabers traveled to the Ontario Center Ice Arena where they faced the Ontario Jr. Reign for the seventh time this season in a game which occurred on Friday, December 12, 2025. Read about how the Ontario Jr. Reign maintained control and dominated the San Diego Sabers. 


After a scoreless standstill at the start of the first period, the Jr. Reign regrouped during the latter half of the period and maintained a 2-0 lead when #14 Jared Padilla (1PPG) and #22 Samuel Delaquis (1PPG) scored two power play goals. Despite having a rough start, the Sabers persevered and made it a one-goal game after #7 Harris Shular opened up the second period (2-1). This Sabers goal did not hinder the Jr. Reign as they were able to regain and further extend their lead with three goals scored by #95 Jasen Jespersen (1G) and #48 Marc Belanger (2G) which made it a 5-1 game going into the last period of regulation. The Jr. Reign finished this game strong with a final score of 6-1 with a goal scored by #51 Alex Plunz and an outstanding goaltending performance by #33 Domenik Mclnenly, who saved 28 out of 29 shots on goal. With another win under their belt the Ontario Jr. Reign are now on a two-game winning streak after ending the San Diego Sabers’ three-game winning streak. 


Ventura Vikings’ Two Game Series

The Ventura Vikings had a two-game series scheduled on home ice at Iceoplex Simi Valley during week 13 of the regular season. This series started on Friday, December 12, 2025 against the Long Beach Bombers and ended after their game against the San Diego Sabers on Sunday, December 14, 2025. The first period ended with a tied standstill, 1-1, after Vikings’ #10 Nicholas Mardani (1G) answered back to #11 Marcus Vargas (1G) opening goal for the Bombers. The Vikings’ momentum continued into the second period where #53 Calvin Ruggiero (1G) and #14 Dominick Ybarra (1G) made it a 3-1 game after they scored two unanswered goals. Vikings’ #53 Ruggiero (2G) and Bombers #11 Vargas (1PPG, 1G) went back-and-forth in regards to answering one another’s goals as they both put up two-goals throughout the span of the third period. These goals ultimately made it a two-goal game and recorded #53 Calvin Ruggiero’s first hat-trick and #11 Marcus Vargas’ second hat-trick of the 2025-26 regular season (5-3). With two minutes left in regulation, the Vikings secured their 6-3 win with one last goal scored by #47 Reese Tittle and the impressive goaltending performance by #31 Aiden Biswanger who saved 38 out of 41 shots on goal. After their Game 1 victory, the Ventura Vikings found themselves with a one-game winning streak while the Long Beach Bombers continued onto a two-game losing streak. 


The Sabers started Game 2 strong with an opening goal scored by #7 Harris Shular and a power play goal scored by #24 Sammy Albano which gave them a 2-0 lead going into the second period. Down by two, the Vikings regrouped during the second period which ended 3-2 in the Sabers’ favor as Sabers’ #13 Ollie Ruski-Jones scored midway through the period and Vikings’ #51 Joe Lawrence answered back with two power play goals. With time winding down, the Vikings were able to tie the game, 3-3, and forced overtime with a goal scored by #25 Ryan Gill late in the third period. These two teams entered a shootout after a scoreless overtime which ended with a Vikings’ victory secured by #28 Alexander Wendt, who saved 44 out of 47 shots on goal by the end of this matchup. After a gusty Game 2 win, the Ventura Vikings are now on a two-game winning streak while the San Diego Sabers continue into a two-game losing streak. 


Overall, Week 13 of the 2025-26 USPHL Pacific Division was full of thrilling outcomes and high-scoring wins. Some memorable moments from this past week included multiple winning/losing streaks being extended, two hat-tricks being recorded, and a Ventura Vikings shootout win. There were 2 hat-tricks recorded during week 13 of the regular season which were secured by Long Beach Bombers’ #11 Marcus Vargas and Ventura Vikings’ #53 Calvin Ruggiero. Looking ahead, we have a series of matchups planned as the Pacific Division meets up with the Northwest Division in the 2025 Las Vegas Showcase.
