Ontario Jr. Reign's 2024-2025 Regular Season Recap

The Ontario Jr. Reign’s persistence during the regular season has put them in third place of the USPHL Pacific Division standings with 68 points and a season record of 33-11-2-0. Out of their 23 wins, three of them consisted of one shootout win, three overtime wins and four triumphant shutouts. They also had four double-digit wins during the regular season. The Jr. Reign started with a five-game winning streak and ended the season with a seven-game winning streak. The Longest winning streak that the Jr. Reign was able to maintain an eight-game winning streak which started during the week of the Las Vegas Showcase and ended during the week of Jan. 9-12, 2025 in a game against the Fresno Monsters.
PP & PK Success Rate and Top Scorers
The Ontario Jr. Reign ended the regular season with a 30% power play success rate and an exceptional 89.15% penalty killing success rate. Their top scorers were #85 Denver Craig who had 88 (38 G, 50 A) points and #13 Luke Cannon who had 52 points (21 G, 31 A) recorded by the end of the regular season.

Players of the Month
Forward, Denver Craig, was amongst the group that were named Players of the Month in October and November 2024.
Goaltender, Ryan Hicks, as amongst the group that were named Players of the Month in November 2024.
Forward, Carter Demelo, was amongst the group that were named Players of the Month in January, 2025.
Matteo Pero (forward) and Morry Sheynin (defensemen) were named Players of the Month in February, 2025.
Goaltending
In regards to goaltending, five out of six of their goaltenders were active during the regular season. Their stats include: Domenik Mcinenly’s 8 wins out of 10 games and a 0.940 SV%; Ryan Hicks’ 10 wins out of 13 games and a 0.924 SV%; Josh Henson’s 9 wins in 15 games and a 0.894 SV%; Ethan Sellwood’s 2 wins out of 3 games played and a 0.909 SV% with OJR; Nikolas Charles’ 4 wins out of 10 games played and 0.906 SV% with OJR. Both Sellwood and Charles were late additions to the Jr. Reign who greatly helped the team.
Against the rest of the Pacific Division:
Ontario Jr. Reign (OJR) vs. Ventura Vikings (VNV)
OJR have won all six games against VNV (6-0). OJR swept VNV and dominated in regards to puck possession (274 SOG vs 157 SOG) and in overall goal scoring (48 G vs 21 G). OJR was also stronger on their power play (33.3% PP vs. 27.8% PP).
Ontario Jr. Reign (OJR) vs. Lake Tahoe Lakers (LTL)
OJR won three out of the five games against LTL when they faced one another in the regular season (3-2). OJR dominated LTL in regards to puck possession (199 SOG vs. 172 SOG) and capitalizing on their power play opportunities (17.4% PP vs. 5.56% PP). Although OJR had the advantage over LTL, both teams were relatively similar in regards to the amount of goals scored between one another as OJR ended their regular season against LTL with 15 G and LTL ended with 14 G.
Ontario Jr. Reign (OJR) vs. Fresno Monsters (FRM)
OJR won one out of six games against FRM by the end of the regular season (1-5). OJR struggled to maintain puck control (197 SOG vs. 222 SOG) and were outscored (24 G vs. 35 G) when they played against FRM during the regular season. OJR did find more success while on the power play when playing against FRM (27.8% PP vs 15.6% PP).
Ontario Jr. Reign (OJR) vs. Henderson Force (HNF)
OJR have won five out of the six games against HNF during the regular season (5-1). OJR had the upper hand in majority of their previous matchups as they maintained keep consistent puck possession (220 SOG vs. 158 SOG), remained strong on their penalty killing (100%), and outscored HNF (22 G vs. 8 G).
Ontario Jr. Reign (OJR) vs. San Diego Sabers (SDS)
OJR has won four out of six games against SDS by the end of the regular season (4-2). Despite SDS having more scoring chances than OJR (226 SOG vs 167 SOG), SDS struggled to secure a couple wins when facing OJR (33 G vs 16 G). OJR found more success on the power play as they ended the regular season matchups against SDS with a 32.3% PP success rate which was higher than Sabers’ 12% PP success rate.
Ontario Jr. Reign (OJR) vs. Long Beach Bombers (LBB)
OJR have won five out of six games against LBB during the regular season (5-1). OJR outshot (320 SOG vs. 181 SOG), outscored (35 G vs 18 G), and had more success on the power play (29.4% PP vs 17.2% PP) when they played against LBB.
Ontario Jr. Reign (OJR) vs. Bakersfield Roughnecks (BKR)
OJR have won five out of the six games against BKR by the end of the regular season (5-1). OJR maintained control over puck possession (298 SOG vs. 180 SOG), remained strong on the power play (39.3% PP vs. 9.09% PP), and had consistent goal scoring (39 G vs 12 G) when they played against BKR.
The Ontario Jr. Reign ended the regular season strong and on a high note with their seven-game winning streak. This momentum will greatly help them as they are scheduled to play against the Lake Tahoe Lakers in the Premier Playoffs 2025. It is certain that the Jr. Reign will not go down without a fight in the playoffs as they are determined to advance to the Premier Finals for a second year in a row!
