Nov. 8, 2024 - Sabers Extend Their Winning Streak!

The San Diego Sabers faced the Long Beach Bombers at Lakewood Ice on Friday, November 8, 2024. The San Diego Sabers continue their winning streak to three-games after winning their matchup against the Long Beach Bombers this weekend.

Game 1: San Diego Sabers 3, Long Beach Bombers 2

Although the Long Beach Bombers struck first with a goal 2 minutes into the first period, the San Diego Sabers remained strong and answered back in the second period with a goal scored by Aidan Cosgrove (1-1). Sabers’ Sam Bailey extended their lead by two-goals and ultimately scored the game winning goal late in the second period (3-1). The Long Beach Bombers made a valiant effort to tie the game after making it a one-goal game early in the third period (3-1). However, they were unable to let any more goals slip past Mikhail Saratovtsev, the Sabers’ goaltender. Saratovtsev ended up saving 28 out of 30 shots on goal by the end of the game which ended with a final score of 3-2 in the Sabers’ favor. 

This win has extended the Sabers’ lead to a three-game winning streak.
