The Montréal Victoire were the second team to secure their spot in 2026 PWHL Walter Cup Playoffs after their triumphant 3-0 shutout against the Vancouver Goldeneyes on April 1, 2026. Their overall resilience on the ice during the regular season helped them to end with 62 points and a season record of 16-6-2-6. Out of their 16 wins, the Victoire secured seven shutouts, six overtime wins, and two shootout wins. After facing a loss during their 2025-26 regular season debut, the Victoire embarked on a six-game winning streak which occurred during the span of November 25 - December 27, 2025. The Victoire’s longest winning streak was their seven-game winning streak which started on March 25, 2026 and ended on April 21, 2026. The Montréal Victoire clinched the first seed in the standings after their outstanding performance during the 2025-26 PWHL regular season.

The Montréal Victoire ended the regular season with a 19.0% power play success rate and a 91.5% penalty killing success rate. MTL won two out of four games played against BOS during the regular season which included one shutout and one overtime win (2-2). During the four games played against one another, MTL had a slight advantage when it came to puck possession (105 SOG vs. 102 SOG) despite being outscored by BOS (7G vs. 8G). MTL also had the advantage when it came to their special teams as they ended with a higher power play (42.9% vs. 7.69%) and penalty kill success rate (92.3% vs. 57.1%).
Montréal Victoire (MTL) vs. Toronto Sceptres (TOR)
MTL won all five games that they played against TOR during the regular season which included two shootout victories and one shutout win (5-0). This MTL regular season sweep was made possible after they outscored (14G vs. 6G) and outshot TOR (156 SOG vs. 131 SOG). MTL’s sweep also greatly benefited from their special teams as they ended with a higher power play success rate (23.5% vs. 0.00%) and an undefeated penalty kill (100% vs. 70.6%).

MTL won three out of four games played against VAN during the regular season which included two shutout victories (3-1). During the four games played, MTL outscored (11G vs. 6G) and outshot VAN (112 SOG vs. 95 SOG). In regards to special teams, VAN had the upper hand as they ended with a higher power play success rate (20% vs. 0%) and an undefeated penalty kill (100% vs. 80%).
Montréal Victoire (MTL) vs. Minnesota Frost (MIN)
MTL won all four games against MIN during the regular season which included two overtime wins and two shutout wins (4-0). This regular season sweep was made possible after MTL outscored (12G vs. 3G) and outshot MIN (125 SOG vs. 83 SOG). In regards to special teams, both MTL and MIN ended with a 0% power play success rate and a 100% penalty kill success rate.
Montréal Victoire (MTL) vs. New York Sirens (NY)
MTL won three out of five games against NY during the regular season which included one shutout win (3-2). During the five games played, MTL outscored (16G vs. 7G) and outshot NY (158 SOG vs. 140 SOG). MTL also found more success with their special teams as they ended with a higher power play (26.7% vs. 10.5%) and penalty kill success rate (89.5% vs. 73.3%).

MTL won all four games against SEA during the regular season which included one shootout win (4-0). This regular season sweep was made possible after MTL outscored (12G vs. 4G) and outshot SEA (123 SOG vs. 97 SOG). MTL also found more success with their special teams as they ended with a higher power play (13.3% vs. 7.69%) and penalty kill success rate (92.3% vs. 86.7%).
Montréal Victoire (MTL) vs. Ottawa Charge (OTT)
MTL won three out of four games against OTT during the regular season which included one shutout win (3-1). During the four games played, MTL outscored (9G vs. 5G) and outshot OTT (114 SOG vs. 109 SOG). MTL also found more success with their special teams as they ended with a higher power play (21.4% vs. 15.4%) and penalty kill success rate (84.6% vs. 78.6%).
The Montréal Victoire had an astonishing 2025-26 regular season which not only secured their spot in the playoffs but also helped them to clinch the first seed in the standings. The Montréal Victoire do have some competition in the playoffs as they are scheduled to take on the Minnesota Frost in the 2026 PWHL Walter Cup Playoffs. Despite sweeping the Minnesota Frost during the regular season, we can expect a hard-fought battle between both teams as they are fueled by the hunger to make it to the finals.
