This week of the USPHL 2024-2025 regular season included a two-game series between Henderson Force and the Long Beach Bombers as well as two three-game series for the Fresno Monsters and Ontario Jr. Reign. After finding a way to maintain consistent control throughout their respective game series, Henderson Force, Fresno Monsters, and the Ontario Jr. Reign swept their game series and continued to extend their winning streaks! Henderson Force Sweep the Long Beach Bombers
January 17-18, 2025
Henderson Force traveled to Lakewood Ice and faced the Long Beach Bombers in a two-game series this past week. Game 1 went in Henderson Force’s favor as the team won with a final score of 2-1. Henderson Force carried their momentum into Game 2 and won by a landslide with a final score of 6-2. After a successful week, Henderson Force are now on a five-game winning streak!

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a regulation win for Henderson Force (2-1) at Lakewood Ice.
GOALTENDING: Jacob Brumm able to secure the win for Henderson Force after saving 34 out of 35 shots on goal. Ludovic Dagenais was in net for the Long Beach Bombers and saved a total of 31 out of 33 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Henderson Force’s Christopher Bruder scored the game winning goal during the middle of the second period.
Game 2 | Saturday, January 18, 2025 | Henderson Force 6, Long Beach Bombers 2
FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a regulation win for Henderson Force (6-2) at Lakewood Ice.
GOALTENDING: Nicholas Perry able to secure the win for Henderson Force after saving 31 out of 33 shots on goal. Stepan Vedernikov was in net for the Long Beach Bombers and saved a total of 43 out of 49 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Henderson Force’s Shane Dean scored the game winning goal and Elyjah Sue scored the insurance goal during the second period of the game.
Fresno Monsters Sweep the Lake Tahoe Lakers
Jan. 17-19, 2025
The Lake Tahoe Lakers traveled to the Gateway Ice Center for a three-game series against the Fresno Monsters. Game 1 resulted in a dominant performance by the Fresno Monsters who won 9-3 and Filipp Papshev recording his second hat-trick of the regular season. The Fresno Monsters continued to control this series after a dominant performance in Game 2 which ended in a 7-0 shutout for the team. After a close game between the Lake Tahoe Lakers, the Fresno Monsters closed out the three-game series with a 4-3 win and Filipp Papshev recorded his third hat-trick of the regular season. The Fresno Monsters have extended their winning streak to seven-games after sweeping the Lake Tahoe Lakers this week!

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a regulation victory for the Fresno Monsters (9-3) at Gateway Ice Center.
GOALTENDING: Brooks Barofsky able to secure the win for the Fresno Monsters after saving 24 out of 27 shots on goal. Perry Jacobs was initially in net for the Lake Tahoe Lakers and saved a total of 18 out of 25 shots on goal before Timon Franzen took over during the third period. Timon Franzen saved a total of 10 out of 12 shots on goal by the end of the game.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Fresno Monsters’ Matteo Ferreira-Tavares scored the game winning goal at the end of the first period and Nils Tunbratt scored the insurance goal during the second period of the game.
HAT-TRICKS: Fresno Monsters’ Filipp Papshev recorded his second hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season after scoring three goals during this game.

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a triumphant 7-0 shutout victory for the Fresno Monsters at Gateway Ice Center.
GOALTENDING: Brooks Barofsky able to secure the win for the Fresno Monsters after saving all 26 shots on goal that he faced. Perry Jacobs was initially in net for the Lake Tahoe Lakers and saved a total of 23 out of 30 shots on goal by the end of this game.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Fresno Monsters’ Niko Ylisirnio scored the game winning goal late in the first period and Jesse Nuutinen scored the insurance goal early in the second period.

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a regulation win for the Fresno Monsters (4-3) at Gateway Ice Center.
GOALTENDING: Brooks Barofsky able to secure the win for the Fresno Monsters after saving 34 out of 37 shots on goal. Timon Franzen was in net for the Lake Tahoe Lakers and saved a total of 20 out of 23 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Fresno Monsters Filipp Papshev scored the game winning goal during the third period of this game.
HAT-TRICKS: After scoring during all three periods of the game, Fresno Monsters’ Filipp Papshev recorded his third hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season.
Ontario Jr. Reign Sweep their Three-Game Series

The Ontario Jr. Reign traveled to Valley Childrens Ice Center and faced the Bakersfield Roughnecks in a three-game series this past week. The series kicked off with an impressive 9-0 shutout by Ontario Jr. Reign and Denver Craig recorded his fourth hat-trick of the regular season by the end of Game 1.The Ontario Jr. Reign continued to dominate the series as they won Game 2 with a final score of 6-3 and Carter Demelo recording his first hat-trick of the regular season. This three-game series closed out with a double-digit victory for the Ontario Jr. Reign as they won 10-2 against the Ventura Vikings at Ontario Center Ice Arena. The Ontario Jr. Reign are on a four-game winning streak after a successful sweep this week!

Max Sutton was initially in net for the Bakersfield Roughnecks and saved a total of 24 out of 28 shots on goal before Liam Luther took over midway through the second period. Liam Luther saved a total of 20 out of 25 shots on goal by the end of the game.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Ontario Jr. Reign’s Luke Cannon scored the game winning goal and Denver Craig scored the power play insurance goal during the first period of the game.
HAT-TRICKS: Ontario Jr. Reign’s Denver Craig recorded his fourth hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season after scoring three goals during this game.

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with an impressive regulation win for the Ontario Jr. Reign (6-2) at Ontario Center Ice Arena.
GOALTENDING: Domenik McInenly able to secure the win for the Ontario Jr. Reign after saving 23 out of 25 shots on goal. Stanislav Teplitskyi was in net for the Bakersfield Roughnecks and saved a total of 48 out of 54 shots on goal.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Ontario Jr. Reign’s Denver Craig scored the game winning goal and the insurance goal during the second period of the game.
HAT-TRICKS: Ontario Jr. Reign’s Carter Demelo recorded his first hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season after scoring three goals during this game.

FINAL SCORE: This game ended with a double-digit regulation victory for the Ontario Jr. Reign (10-2) at Ontario Center Ice Arena.
GOALTENDING: Ryan Hicks able to secure the win for the Ontario Jr. Reign after saving 22 out of 22 shots on goal. Ethan Sellwood was initially in net for the Ventura Vikings and saved a total of 12 out of 17 shots on goal before Brasco Cirillo took over late in the first period. Brasco Cirillo saved a total of 38 out of 43 shots on goal by the end of the third period.
GAME WINNING GOAL: Ontario Jr. Reign’s Carter Demelo scored the game winning goal and the power play insurance goal during the first period of the game.
HAT-TRICKS: After scoring four goals during the first period of this game, Ontario Jr. Reign’s Carter Demelo recorded his second hat-trick of the 2024-2025 regular season.
Overall, Week 19 of the 2024-2025 USPHL Pacific Division was full of exciting games and extended winning streaks. Some memorable moments from this week included: Fresno Monsters 7-0 and Ontario Jr. Reign’s 9-0 shutout; the Ontario Jr. Reign’s double-digit win; and multiple series sweeps. There were 4 hat-tricks recorded this past weekend which included: Fresno Monsters’ Filipp Papshev (3 HT), who recorded his second and third hat-trick of the regular season, as well as Ontario Jr. Reign’s Denver Craig (4 HT) and Carter Demelo (2 HT), who secured his first and second hat-trick of the regular season. Overall, this week was rather successful for the Fresno Monsters, Ontario Jr. Reign, and Henderson Force but has also left other teams determined for a comeback in next week’s games!
