Official 2024-25 NHL Central Division Standings

After a long season of battling to secure their spot in the standings, the teams in the Central Division who have clinched a spot in the 2024-2025 Playoffs have been finalized after the 2024-2025 NHL regular season has come to an end.


The finalized Central Division standings as of April 17, 2025: 

  1. Winnipeg Jets (116 points, 56-22-4) Clinched Playoff Position and Best Record

  2. Dallas Stars (106 points, 50-26-6) Clinched Playoff Position

  3. Colorado Avalanche (102 points, 49-29-4) Clinched Playoff Position

  4. Minnesota Wild (97 points, 45-30-7) Clinched Wildcard Spot 1

  5. St. Louis Blues (96 points, 44-30-8) Clinched Wildcard Spot 2

  6. Utah Hockey Club (89 points, 44-30-13)

  7. Nashville Predators (68 points, 30-44-8)

  8. Chicago Blackhawks (61 points, 25-46-11)


Unfortunately, the Chicago Blackhawks, Nashville Predators, and Utah Hockey Club were unable to secure a spot in the playoffs. The Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues, and Calgary Flames fought hard during their uphill battle against one another for the wildcard spots in the Western Conference standings. However in the last stretch of the season, the Central Division teams were able to secure their spots in the playoffs with a win in their final set of games in the regular season.  


The Winnipeg Jets were the first team in the Western Conference and the Central Division to clinch a playoff spot after securing their 5-4 overtime win against the Washington Capitals which occurred on March 25, 2025. After the Washington Capitals lost their game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on April 13, 2025, the Winnipeg Jets were able to secure their first Presidents’ Trophy win in their franchise’s history. At the time of clinching their playoff spot, they had 102 points and a season record of 49-19-4. The Jets ended the regular season with 116 points, a 56-22-4 season record, a 29.25 PP%, a 79.19 PK%, and 10 impressive shutouts recorded. #81 Kyle Connor led the Jets with the most points recorded by the end of the regular season as he ended with 97 points total which consisted of 41 goals and 56 assists. In regards to goaltending, #37 Connor Hellebuyck dominated the regular season with a 0.925 SV%, a 2.01 GAA, 8 shutouts, and a record of 47-12-3.


The Dallas Stars were the second team in the Central Division to clinch a playoff spot after their 5-1 win against the Seattle Kraken on March 29, 2025. At the time of clinching their playoff spot, the Stars had 100 points and a 48-21-4 season record. The Stars ended the regular season with 106 points, a 50-26-6 season record, a 22.82 PP%, an 82.35 PK% and 4 shutouts. #95 Matt Duchene led the Stars in the most points recorded by the end of the regular season as he ended with 82 points which consisted of 30 goals and 52 assists. #21 Jason Robertson led the Stars with the most goals scored by the end of the regular season as he ended with 35 goals recorded. When we look at goaltending, #29 Jake Oettinger led the team with a season record of 36-18-4, a 2.59 GAA, a 0.909 SV%, and 2 shutouts recorded.  


The Colorado Avalanche were the third team in the Central Division to clinch their spot in the playoffs after their impressive 7-3 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on April 3, 2025. At the time of clinching their playoff spot, they had 98 points and a season record of 47-26-4. The Avs ended the regular season with 102 points, a season record of 49-29-4, a 24.68 PP%, a 79.61 PK%, and 5 shutouts. #29 Nathan MacKinnon leads the team with the most points recorded with 116 points which consists of 32 goals and 84 assists. The first half of the Avs goaltender tandem consists of #39 Mackenzie Blackwood who ended the regular season with a record of 28-21-6, a 2.55 GAA, a 0.912 SV%, and 4 shutouts. #41 Scott Wedgewood completed the second half of the Avs goaltender tandem and ended the regular season with a 14-6-2 record, 2.32 GAA, 0.908 SV% and 2 shutouts.


The Minnesota Wild were the first team in the Western Division to clinch a wildcard spot in the playoffs after their 3-2 overtime win against the Anaheim Ducks on April 16, 2025 during their last game of the 2024-25 regular season. The Wild ended the regular season with 97 points, a 44-30-7 season record, a 21.08 PP%, 72.28 PK%, and 6 shutouts. #12 Matt Boldy led the Wild with the most points, goals, and assists recorded during the regular season as he ended with 73 points (27G, 46A). In regards to the Wild’s goaltending tandem, #32 Filip Gustavsson made up the first half of the tandem and ended the regular season with a 31-19-6 record, 2.56 GAA, 0.914 SV%, and 5 shutouts. The second half of the tandem was future Hall of Famer #29 Marc-Andre Fleury who ended the regular season with a 14-9-1 record, 2.49 GAA, a 0.899 SV%, and one shutout recorded. 


The St. Louis Blues were the team to clinch the last wildcard spot in the Western Division of the playoffs after their 6-1 win against the Utah Hockey Club on April 15, 2025. The Blues ended the regular season with 96 points, a 44-30-8 season record, 21.16 PP%, 74.33 PK%, and 4 shutouts. #18 Robert Thomas led the Blues with the most points and assists recorded during the regular season with 81 points and 60 assists. #25 Jordan Kyrou led the team with the most goals recorded during the regular season as he ended with 36 goals scored. The Blues’ star goaltender was #50 Jordan Binnington who ended the regular season with a 28-22-5 record, 2.69 GAA, 0.900 SV%, and 3 shutouts.
