San Diego Sabers vs. Fresno Monsters

The Sabers will take on the Fresno Monsters at Gateway Ice Center this week. The Sabers and Monsters are split between wins against each other in regards to the previous matchup. The Sabers are very determined to break this split going into this three-game series.


In their two-game series this past weekend, the Sabers split their series against the Bakersfield Roughnecks as the Roughnecks won Game 1 and the Sabers won Game 2. The Fresno Monsters triumphantly swept their three-game series against the Ventura Vikings this past weekend. Both teams are hungry to win the three-game series this week.


The San Diego Sabers are currently in 3rd place with 26 points in the Pacific standings and have a season record of 13-7-0-0. Their leading scorers are Liam Krupcyznski and Knut Hornkvist who currently have 40 points this season. 


The Fresno Monsters are currently in 5th place with 24 points in the Pacific standings and have a season record of 12-6-0-0. Their leading scorers are Simon Eriksson who currently has 34 points and Nils Tunbratt who currently has 31 points this season. 


Going into this matchup, the San Diego Sabers have a 37.5% power play success rate which is higher compared to the Fresno Monsters’ 31.08% power play success rate. The Fresno Monsters have an 71.7% penalty killing percentage which is slightly higher than the Sabers’ 70.27% penalty killing percentage success rate.
