The Ontario Jr. Reign ended round one of the playoffs with a two-game winning streak after forcing Game 3 and winning the series with an overtime win. The team’s points leaders are #19 Aiden Yi (2G, 1A) and #71 Zack Zhang (1G, 2A) who both have 3 points recorded so far in the playoffs.

The Fresno Monsters won their round one series with a two-game winning streak after sweeping the Ventura Vikings, 2-0. The team’s points leader is #6 Ethan Yang (2G, 1A) who currently has 3 points recorded so far in the playoffs.

Going into this matchup, the Ontario Jr. Reign have a 25.0% power play success rate which is slightly lower compared to the Fresno Monsters’ 27.3% power play success rate. Both teams have a similar penalty kill success rate, however, the Fresno Monsters do have a slight edge over the Ontario Jr. Reign (90.9% vs. 90.0%). During their previous six games that they played against one another during the regular season, the Fresno Monsters won four out of six games played against the Ontario Jr. Reign. It was evident that the Fresno Monsters had a slight advantage when it came to puck possession (194 SOG vs. 191 SOG) and goal scoring (25G vs 14G).
