The Fresno Monsters and Henderson Force will face one another in the Premier Playoffs 2025 which will take place on the Monsters’ home ice at Gateway Ice Center. The Monsters have dominated and taken control and swept all three of the regular season games that they had against Henderson Force. Although the Monsters have had the upper hand, the resilience of Henderson Force will be what fuels them in this series.
The Monsters enter the playoffs with confidence and momentum from their eight-game winning streak that they were able to end the regular season with. Henderson Force also will be entering the playoffs with momentum from winning their last game of the regular season against the San Diego Sabers.
The Fresno Monsters clinched a playoff spot and the Pacific Division by ending the regular season with 74 points and a season record of 37-9-0-0. Their leading scorers during the regular season were #21 Simon Eriksson who had 94 points (40 G, 54 A) and #23 Filipp Papshev who had 77 points (39 G, 38 A) recorded by the end of the regular season.
Henderson Force were able to secure their spot in the playoffs when they clinched the 4th spot in the Pacific Division standings and concluded the regular season with 60 points and a 29-15-1-1 season record. Their leading scorers by the end of the regular season were #8 Noah Morency who had 50 points (29 G, 21 A) and #37 Shane Dean who had 53 points (23 G, 20 A).
Going into this matchup, the Fresno Monsters ended the regular season with a 26.7% overall power play success rate which is higher compared to Henderson Force’s 18.72% overall power play success rate. Henderson Force ended the regular season with an 83.82% overall penalty killing success rate which is very similar to the Fresno Monsters’ 83.21% penalty killing success rate. When they played against one another during the regular season, the Monsters outscored (14 G vs. 3 G), outshot (101 SOG vs 65 SOG), and had a stronger penalty killing rate (100%) compared to the Force.
Henderson Force, despite their previous challenges against the Fresno Monsters, go into these match-ups with vengeance in order to get their first win against the Monsters. On the other hand, the Monsters go into these match-ups with the utmost confidence and determination to remain on top.
