Bakersfield Roughnecks’ 2024-2025 USPHL Pacific Division Regular Season Recap

The Bakersfield Roughnecks' commendable performance during the regular season has put them in sixth place of the USPHL Pacific Division standings with 36 points and a season record of 16-26-2-2. Their 16 wins consisted of three overtime wins. The longest winning-streak that the Bakersfield Roughnecks had during the regular season included a three-game winning streak which started during the Las Vegas Showcase and during the week of Sept. 26-29, 2024 and ended during the week of Oct. 11-13, 2024 when they faced against the Long Beach Bombers. 


PP & PK Success Rate and Top Scorers

The Bakersfield Roughnecks ended the regular season with a 18.75% success rate and penalty killing rate of 66.15%. Their top scorers were #9 Christopher Larochelle who had 49 points (22 G, 27 A) recorded and #39 Nazar Atta El-Manan who had 41 points (12 G, 29 A) by the end of the regular season.

Players of the Week and Players of the Month

As of March 5, 2025 there has been one Bakersfield Roughnecks player that was amongst the group of players who were named the Players of the Week and Players of the Month during the 2024-2025 regular season. This included goaltender Jakob Barcelona being named Player of the Week during the week of Oct. 16, 2024 and Player of the Month in October 2024. 


Goaltending 

In regards to goaltending, all four of their goaltenders have been active during the season. The stats include: Liam Luther’s 2 wins out of 17 games and a 0.892 SV%; Jakob Barcelona’ 8 wins out of 20 games and an 0.888 SV%; Stanislav Teplitsky’s 4 wins in 20 games and an 0.868 SV%; and Max Sutton’s 3 wins out of 10 games and a 0.854 SV%. 


Against the rest of the Pacific Division:  

  • Bakersfield Roughnecks (BKR) vs. Lake Tahoe Lakers (LTL)

    • BKR won two out of six games against LTL by the end of the regular season. BKR were outscored (31 G vs. 24 G) and struggled to maintain puck control (219 SOG vs. 287 SOG) as well as capitalize on their power play opportunities (15.6% PP vs. 40% PP) when they played against LTL.

  • Bakersfield Roughnecks (BKR) vs. San Diego Sabers (SDS)

    • SDS and BKR were split by the end of the regular season (3-3). The Bakersfield Roughnecks outshot (280 SOG vs 260 SOG) and had a better power play success rate  (16.7% PP vs 20.8% PP) when they played against SDS. Despite these stats, the San Diego Sabers outscored the Bakersfield Roughnecks (32 G vs. 23 G).

  • Bakersfield Roughnecks (BKR) vs. Long Beach Bombers (LBB)

    • BKR has won four out of six games against LBB by the end of the regular season (4-2). BKR have outshot (285 SOG vs 181 SOG), outscored (30 G vs. 17 G), and found more success on the power play (30.6% PP vs. 20% PP) in their previous games this season against LBB. 

  • Bakersfield Roughnecks (BKR) vs. Fresno Monsters (FRM) 

    • FRM have won all six games against BKR during the regular season (6-0). BKR struggled to outscore (11 G vs. 50 G), capitalize on their scoring chances (171 SOG vs. 330 G) and power play opportunities (25% PP vs. 80% PP) when they played against FRM. 

  • Bakersfield Roughnecks (BKR) vs. Ontario Jr. Reign (OJR)

    • BKR won one out of six games against OJR during the regular season (1-5). BKR struggled to maintain puck possession (180 SOG vs. 298 SOG), to score goals (12 G vs. 39 G), and on the power play (9.09% PP vs. 39.3% PP) when they faced OJR. 

  • Bakersfield Roughnecks (BKR) vs. Henderson Force (HNF)

    • BKR was swept by HNF during the regular season (3-0) as they struggled to match HNF’s total goals scored (7 G vs. 20 G) and power play success rate (8.33% PP vs. 21.4% PP) when they faced one another. These two teams were relatively similar in regards to having puck possession throughout these three games, however, HNF has an advantage over BKR (91 SOG vs. 89 SOG).

  • Bakersfield Roughnecks (BKR) vs. Ventura Vikings (VNV)

    • BKR and VNV ended the regular season evenly split in regards to wins against one another (3-3). Despite being very close in regards to total goals scored (30 G for BKR and 29 G for VNV), BKR outshot VNV (22 SOG vs. 199 SOG) while VNV had more power play success rates compared to BKR (31.3% PP vs. 19.2% PP). 


Although the Bakersfield Roughnecks did not make it to the 2025 Premier Playoffs, this does not take away from their efforts during the regular season. The Roughnecks did their best to try to stay in the running for the playoffs and had some memorable moments during the season which they should be proud of. With the result from this regular season, they will certainly come back next season eager to place higher in the standings and get a chance at the playoffs!
